Congrats, I recently got to lvl 5, and then after reaching halfway to lvl 6 got contributor value sliced on many GA's, almost kicking me back to lvl 4(

They retroactively do it. Sometimes, they only do it if you've given away the game after it was given away for free, but sometimes they do it for reasons they aren't transparent about. I've had a lot of mine zeroed out despite never being given away for free.

The reduced CV is implemented after a certain date. At least that's how I thought it worked. So, it will only affect you should you have bought something that was bundled and then they retroactively reduce the CV. I did actually want to ask someone about this to confirm, but perhaps you know?

It compares the date you gave it away to the date it was set for bundled/free.
Example: You make a giveaway today. The reduced CV for that game is set for yesterday. You'll receive reduced CV. Let's say tomorrow they set it to "0 CV" for 4/1/25. You lose the CV you got from that GA.

Just to be clear and fair, in my case is was Battlefield V Definitive Edition
I gave away few copies of it 2 months ago,when it was still counted "full value" on SG, even tho it was on huge sales. About 2-3 weeks ago they changed it to "reduced value since december 2023", and the game itself Already Was "reduced value since november 2023"
So from how I see it, they just missed the Deluxe edition when changing value of the game back when, and noticed only when there was another spike in people giving it away during sales.
I'm mostly okay with it, it did feel like cheating with how big the sale was anyway.
I just wish the contributor graph in profile would show that drop back down instead of being changed to look like it always was reduced, personal preference)

Yep i wish the same I have been level 6 and 7 multiple times, it would be good to see the drops, not just the rises

Yeah that's how I understood it as well. So shouldn't be a problem as long as you got it before it was bundled or whatever. Thanks for the explanation :)

I used to be an avid user on here a long long time ago but I kind of fell out of it. After a couple year hiatus, last year I returned to SG and started churning out loads of giveaways! In the span of 9 months I've climbed from level 2 to level 5 pretty quickly and then took me a minute to climb from level 5 to level 6 but I finally did it, which is cause for a celebration! I love Nonograms, especially if they're difficult, so that's how I'm celebrating. Come join me!
