If the game itself runs poorly on your PC what's the point in getting items for it?

the "common person" doesn't have the time to play (one) video games 10 hours a week..
although 15 accounts idling just for the sake of idling is indeed over the top

Prices of everything will rise so I would not exactly call it a victory.

Exactly the oppose, I think. TF2 keys are the most important item, and the price can't rise if refined metals quantity decrease.

There should be less of everything over time, surely?

It only works that way if you felt the need to use all of your wallet though. I found it better to just buy a game with the leftover amount.
I don't know about heavy multi accounting though, could indeed be quicker and more effective for the keys.

well I still have like 80 refined (pure and weapons) and 40+ keys in stock across 5 accounts, I just won't buy anything anymore except new weapons (if there will be any)
oh by the way say farewell to cheap craft hats, cheap stranges, "cheap" salvaged crates and cheap anything overall, because until now the average TF2 player could buy pretty much everything relatively cheap except keys and high tier items

The problem is that you automate your game. You're using a bot to interact with it. That is a bannable offense

You do not need 8 core cpu to run 7 tf2. You can run 16 tf2 with 4 core cpu and 16gb ram in normal mode. Having dedicated tf2 server and other tf2 accounts join same map, around 170-200mb ram per accounts. In text mode I could run 32 accounts in 1 map, having least 2 or 3gb memory left.

Textmode will no longer produce drops anyway. Valve made sure of that :)

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Valve essentially just got rid of cheap labor on steam. I predict a mass inflation of value in the steam inventory and possibly everything in the market place. I don't think it'll be instant but it will happen and when it does, the TF2 bubble would've officially popped.

Store price won't change for sure, and market price has nothing to do with Valve (other than their fee).

This is a little disappointing. My daughter likes to play with me against bots on a lan server I set up. Since she is new to the game, she has almost nothing. So I was letting her account idle once or twice a week just to help get her some different things to play with, which she was grateful for. She is young, so dedicating a lot time into playing the game is unrealistic. Not that this is a game killer or anything, but she did get excited each time I told her to check the new things she had acquired.

I idled 15 accounts today for 10 hours straight, I got 0 items on all accounts... I run textmode, I did connect.
Did anyone else idling, get their items this week? I will try to update steam again and idle tomorrow, but this is really weird...
