Entered 20 giveaways, won nothing. Stats page tells me that my probability for a win was 1.19% so I'm not exactly surprised. :D
One more congratulations to space cat day, cheers!

I was at 27.47% chance to win yet I did not win any of the 10-year giveaways. Fine by me, but honestly surprising.

Space Cat dropped by earlier in the day for me, so I guess at its event it was busy with other people.
But, hey, I got to see space cat in the day, so I am happy!
Cheers!
Edit: it was kind of eventful to see my GA with "ended 2 minutes ago" but no winners. Space Cat was busy roaming the world looking for dice!

Didn't see any SpaceCats today... Which is fair considering I entered only like 15 giveaways I was interested in :P.
Hope that people had their days filled with space cats, and Thank you to everyone who hosted a giveaway!
Here's to 10 more years!

Crazy that the charts said I had a 30%+ chance but not even a small game :(

The event and others that day, I was just reading from my stats page that shows the graph. I was in almost all the event ones though but I know those are only a fraction of a percent, but but in so many adds up.

Ah ok that makes more sense. There weren't that many GAs in the event that gave those odds, that's why I was wondering.
Yeah I have won on days with ridiculous odds and completely missed on "sure wins" days. Stats remain just probabilities, right?
You've already won public GAs with incredible odds so i wouldn't worry too much
I'm sure your luck will flip soon :)

Yeah I don't really care about the winning, that's why I spam the El Cheap-O giveaways but I haven't even been getting anything from those. The last thing I won was a hentai game that I mis-clicked and didn't feel like removing my entry, and it ends up it was giving away 500 copies and there were about 500 entrants lol.

Comment has been collapsed.
Fraud? Only you participated and still have you lost? Can't the others win if you participate?
Amazing xD

1) You don't need to legimitate your leeching. Others from brasil also find ways to give back to the community.
2) I personally find it bad manners to post in an international forum not in english.
3) This site as so many awesome people that spend their time and money for giveaways and events and everyone that is not grateful for such a special community should just leave instead of just taking free games and ontop of it complain about it.
Maybe reflect on yourself a bit and try to be part of the community.

Comment has been collapsed.
Comment has been collapsed.
lol of course someone like you would throw words like "politicamente correto" into a completely unrelated conversation.
Makes perfect sense. Did you vote for Bolsonaro too or you wouldn't push the cliché that far?
Never mind, I'm not interested. Have a nice life.

Rude people never post in English when they are bitching or being rude. They're hoping nobody will notice.
But he expects you to use translators to understand him. Just like he expects you to make giveaways for him to win, but with good odds, dammit! ;)

lol dude. I speak 3 languages. English, French and Spanish. And I'm learning Portuguese because my gf is Portuguese, which is why I have been able to read your trash talk without the help of any translator. Why don't you follow your own advice and show your English up?

How appropriate a sg anniversary event ends with "fraud" claims and complaints about not winning. This is the real sg experience.

That attitude significantly reduces at the level 1+ giveaways and seems to disappear entirely at the level 2+ giveaways

Awesome event, unfortunately also pretty soulcrushing for me.
Managed to win a 1 in 9000 chance giveaway for Baldur's Gate 3, which was made by an account with 0 comments, 0 gifts sent or received, a private profile and that at least for the moment hasn't showed up in any capacity. My hopes aren't exactly high. :(
I knew when I entered that it was sketchy, but knowing that I'll probably never get this lucky again and it was all for nothing is...still extremely heartbreaking.

I understand you perfectly. I am in a similar situation ... I have won Dark Souls 3 with more than 6000 participants (I have very good luck!) But ... Apparently the user is his first Gift in 6 years, he has a rather zero participation and has not entered the page since the creation of the giveaway. It gives me little hope, but hey, we'll wait a week to see ... (good luck turned to bad luck!)

Unfortunately there seems to have been quite a lot of similar giveaways during the event - probably bots or people that didn't understand how steamgifts actually works. I really hope yours turns out to be legitimate! Only thing we can do for now is wait

Yeah, there was also a Horizon Zero Dawn GA with someone that freshly registrated here. I saw a big influx of new accounts over the event (just looking at the participents). I always hope this is due to mouth advertisment and not some shady multiaccount thingy, but I can't shake the off the bad feeling after a few incidents.

There were at least 10 of them. From users with 0 giveaways who had registered accounts years ago.
All for massive AAA games.
I actually entered all of them before seeing one who had "Thank you!" in the GA description and wising up. I looked at all the other 50P GAs I had entered and a pattern emerged.
None of these keys have been sent yet. Shockingly.

There were a few giveaways that set off my "do not enter" alarm. That particular one was one of the handful that did so. I really do hope you do end up getting your key, as that game looks amazing (the first two Baldur's Gate games, as well as Throne of Bhaal, were excellent).

Yeah I really love the series as well which makes this even worse - as I mentioned above it seems there was a pretty big wave of fake giveaways, probably caused by an influx of new people because of the event that didn't know much about the site.
At this point I'm pretty sure it's a bogus GA, but I guess hope is always the last to die - thank you for the kind words :)

Sorry to hear that, man. I also joined it, even though it seemed insanely unprobable to win. I really hope you'll still get the key.

Thanks everyone. It was fun, even though I did't have any luck. SG is a great place. I only regret finding it that late. :D Long live the space cat!

Congratulations CG!
Came here via a Google search over 8 years ago, just to dump some excess keys. Yup, over 8 years ago, and I'm still here.
The site and the people just sucked me in and still see no reason to leave - people here are so friendly!
Thanks all for making this site what it is!

it's not May 30... :P
but you can always say thanks to CG :)

Hi everyone,
We did it! One decade of SteamGifts. It's a bit scary to realize 10 years has passed since the site first launched in June 2011, but at the same time it's exciting that we've been able to reach this milestone.
We're going to have a little event for the occasion that will run for the month of June. I spoke with our beloved Space Cat, and he sent me his wishlist of Steam games that he would like to see for his 10th cake day.
https://www.steamgifts.com/space-cat/wishlist
If you'd like to create a giveaway for Space Cat's 10th cake day, start by selecting a game from his wishlist. You can customize it with all of the typical restrictions, however, the giveaways will all end at the same time on July 1st. The giveaways will be marked on the site with a special cake icon to help identify them, and you can browse all of the giveaways you're able to enter for the event using the link below.
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?type=space-cat
On a more personal note, I want to thank everyone for being a part of the community and the journey so far. I certainly didn't anticipated the site would turn into such a large part of my life or that it would grow into what it has become today. I'm always impressed with the people here - the creativity users express in puzzles, trains and events, the hard work invested into the third-party tools and add-ons expanding the functionality of the site, the wealth of information and resources people have taken the time to organize and share, the life stories, accomplishments, and struggles people have opened up with over the years, and the friendships that have been formed. These are things that I never expected when starting the site, and they're the things that make me the most proud of the community.
When it comes to giveaways, nearly 8 million games have been received by users of SteamGifts throughout the past decade. It's an incredible number and I believe it's a testament to the generosity and kindness of the people here.
Before ending this post, I also want to give a special thanks to the support team that has volunteered their time to help manage the community. The site would simply not exist without their help. Thank you!
