GFWL Not shuting down

The first indication that they were shutting down originally came from themselves.

They had posted that it would be discontinued on the Age of Empires Online page, but quickly removed it.

You know how many people compained about the issues that games that got gfwl patched out had and how they wanted gfwl back? Yea guys, be careful what you wish for.

THanks for sharing. I was going to buy the GTA collection because GFWL was going to be discontinued.

I guess I'll have to pass on GTA because I can't stand GFWL.

Hmm, interesting. Either way, I'll be trying to avoid games which use it, even if I would otherwise buy it - especially if they migrated to Steam. GFWL is broken for me - I haven't been able to play most games which used GFWL.

Games for Windows Live gets a lot of crap (most of it well-deserved), but I've never had issues with it, and I really enjoy being able to earn Xbox achievements for PC gaming. Plus, it makes it a lot easier to type obscene messages to my little brother with a keyboard while he's playing on his 360.

Well, I guess I won't be getting DS1.

At least this solution is imo better than just shutting GFWL down without patching it out of games like GTA IV, thus restricting the access to only offline profiles. I started to doubt that there will be a GFWL shutdown when Capcom declared after integrating SF IV Arcade Edition to steam works, that they initiated this migration based purely on the rumors from the AoE Online announcement

mmm I just have one game on gfwl (deus ex) and I own it on steam as well, so no worries for me :3

I hope I will only have to deal with Windows Vista if I get Halo 2 on here.

Oh god, I still remember the shit ton of errors I had trying to start GTA IV thanks to GFWL and that R* Social Club

So i won´t be able to buy bulletstorm and i can´t be arsed to trade it, like seriously, this "servic" only promotes piracy.
