Sell them anyway. I don't see any context or reason where anybody would want to use those in chat. Or most of the available emoticons, for that matter.

Foils are really not as valuable as you think. They're also an absolute pain in the ass to sell.

Actually the foil I got yesterday, someone sold the same for 20 Euros, now it's around 1,50.

The pain when I realized how much could I have earned from it. :P

Yep, exact same thing happened to me.

I happened exactly the same to me, except I was playing Warframe. When I saw the foil trading card I though "finally I get a foil card". I though it was a glitch caused by the overwhelming server traffic and really took me a while to discover that it was actually a emote :). As they say, bliss is happiness.
