Just got Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition.
To be honest, I wasn't putting faith on the site, until my first win. Then I thought I would never win a good game, only indie ones, now I don't doubt anything anymore.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the rules of Steamgifts as outlined in the FAQ and Guidelines. Read all of it - especially the part where it says:
Unreasonable bumping. When bumping a discussion you should try to ensure it is in the best interest of the community. If you notice our community is not engaging with the content after it has been bumped a couple of times, then you need to stop bumping the discussion unless important new information or updates would make it appropriate to do so.
You are infringing Steamgifts rules. Take this as a fair warning and do not infringe on the same rule again to avoid getting your access to the site's features restricted.

Just out of interest: if someone wants to share his biggest win (like alexmizanin did), is he forced to create a new thread instead of using an old thread where it fits? To avoid risking a (temporary) ban? Or generally asking: are we not allowed to write in any old thread at all (because we risk a temporary ban) and have to create a new thread, even if there is an old thread with the same topic where it would fit?

The questions you are asking are answered by the comment you've replied to. In short: Commenting on a topic that has been dead for 8 years is not it. So if you can't necro an old topic - especially not when its EIGHT years dead - creating a new one would make sense.

ooh, I see. I'm new to the site too.
Didn't know about the bump thing. In most forums, they get mad when you create another post for an already existing post or answered topic.
That's why I looked for one before posting. Thanks for the heads up!!
Btw, you guys could do a system like Reddit does, by archiving older posts. Since we can't comment on them, it would make sense to just close them and prevent newbs on doing it like me.

Yes, creating new threads when the same currently active threads already exist is spam. Necro bumping a dead topic is a completely different issue. This is the same for most forums.

Yeah, while my account is very old, I tried the site probably once, but never engaged until like 3 months ago. Still, the discussions seem to be a different part of the site. Like, you can use it without ever joining any discussions.
But okay, I'll read the FAQ and guidelines.
