At the end of the day
We are all human beings
My father told me once that
The world has no borders

I miss you every day
Is what I whisper to myself
You see, dаd
I did liѕten to you
.

This is uhm, our Eurovision song, normally we kept trying to send out actual singers often with not much success, but this time they decided to join the wacky songs, but somehow it has something catchy. The singer's parents died when he was 10 year old, and he will explain that at the end of the song that it is for them.

From what I understand from the Dutch statements it came down to this.
Every time he sings the song he relives the instance he is singing about (and that is emotional).

Apparently there were agreements in place he would not be filmed, even though a couple of days ago it happened also.
He repeatedly asked the woman not to film him but she did not comply.
Then he apparently made a gesture (without touching her) or might have pushed the phone down. (people making the statements where not there personally).

One of them even said after all the talks they had yesterday everyone had the feeling the case was resolved, there might be some form of punishment (since they have zero tolerance) but that everything would be fine. Until all of this came out.

Add to that, that representatives from another participating country supposedly acted crassly to several other participants, but they went unpunished. Yet what Joost did was too much. Make it make sense.

Yeah they claim this zero tolerance but not towards them and that's what's dividing the countries.

Yeah I heard people stating there were other disruptions, some wearing political clothing or other stuff that is also against the rules.
Strange way to handle zero tolerance...

But I don't know the specifics about those cases.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Netherlands wont participate next year either.

His dad died, then his mother shortly after around the age of 10 he became an orphan why it was a tribute to them, in the early rehearsals he also let a tear in the end, not in the half finales (i think) that would leave a scar to any young kid and you will bring that along with you as you grow older.

I already had the suspicion about the dad due the title of the song and the statement reliving the moment where he is singing about.
Didn't know about the mom.

This entire situation is messed up.
Wouldn't surprise me if EBU gets boycotted for one or more years.
Especially since I hear a lot of other people have been breaking rules but nothing happened to them (yet).

Yep their so called zero tolerance, yet others can get away with things, many don't agree but too scared to speak up because they also don't want to get disqualified offcourse.

But if it is really that disproportional like many are stating now. I see it even happen that lawyers get involved because of unfair treatment maybe breaches of contract.

Several people already set there was a no camera agreement after the performance.
But the camera woman violated it even though she was supposedly repeatedly asked to stop.
If anything at all 2 parties are at fault here.
But we hear nothing about that...

It is beyond me how it is so popular. Most songs are as generic and boring as Taylor Swift. Some are good, but overall it is ruined due to the biggest sponsors automatically getting into the final + it being quite clearly a political stage instead of talent. Everyone spends money, votes and jury still votes in whoever fits their agenda the best. Quite clearly DQ of Dutch singer was also political.

Long overdue for the whole thing to slowly die in agony.
