Just bought this game a week ago and now it's in Humble Choice May, figures. Anyway, this game is very good, so good luck!

The game studio (Tango Gameworks) is closed by Bethesda/Microsoft, they're trying to milk the dead cow, hence the Humble bundle.

Game industry is such a mess right now. I'm an indie dev and it's really saddening to see great studios be shut down left and right while whoever is making Codblops 17 is still going strong. At least the indie space seems to be doing ok, as long as companies don't sell out to the big publishers.

Yeah... pre-pandemic "free money", pandemic work-from-home gaming boost, MBA CEOs without actual related skills (art/dev) and bonuses related to arbitrary metrics - all contributed.
Just look at what happened to Helldivers 2 studio thanks to shitty decision from Sony. Don't even want to imagine how they felt about their situation, total fucking gloom & doom.
As for not selling to AAA, yeah... Kerbal space program 2, Cities: Skylines 2, and countless others. Either forced to make crap, or forced to close your studio eventually. But shareholders are happy though!
Speaking of which, fuck Embracer group. They're like half of the whole problem right now.
I'm also doing something of my own and no way I'm going to take any money from anybody to finish my game.
Even good publishers like Devolver are slowly going downhill, unfortunately.
And let's not talk about Unity, lol. ex-CEO of EA/Zynga...

I mean, technically, we can't know if the indie studios are okay, since if they shut down, it's not going to make to the articles, since it's not big enough.
