A game I worked on released on Steam a few days ago, so to celebrate I'm giving away a copy!
World Racing 2 Champion Edition offers the full experience and the classic gameplay of the original 2005 game, plus:

Appreciate seeing games like this get resurrected, thanks for sharing :)

As someone who worked on the original, thank you for the resurrection. And sorry for some of the horrible things in the source code you had to go through. :D

The code is excellent! But the scripting engine... ehhhh π

I thought Lua was neat. At least it was pretty easy to integrate, no other external dependencies. Anyway, I wish you a lot of success with the title and with whatever follows.

as someone who used to frequent games.reveur back in the day, the release of this had me pretty excited but I haven't decided if I wanna buy it yet so thanks for the opportunity. I assume all the licenses and stuff are replaced aka no real car names but that's alright with me as long as the mods for the OG version still work. Do they?

They do! Workshop is an addition, not a replacement for "classic" mods, although it is arguably better to install scenery mods the "new" way straight into the AddOns directory (they are trivial to convert), as then they will survive game updates.

good stuff! I'll probably stick to the good old way to be honest because I like fiddling with the mods and making my own editcars and stuff but it's so nice that you guys made this a reality and hopefully a smooth running experience on newer systems
