Did you play any of the Shenmue games previously?
I played some of Shenmue 1 back in the day, but I didn't like the controls and so did't bother playing very far into it.
Still hoping to one day see a port of Skies of Arcadia (with superior Dreamcast textures and music and Gamecube versions extra content combined).

+1 for Skies of Arcadia. I've been pining for that game since my DreamCast discs wore out, if they could get that one on Steam I'd buy it so fast the service would get whiplash.

Always wanted to play them! Seems perfect for the GPD Win :D

Huh, apparently they want to sell the old games together with reentering the store with Shenmue 3. If this will be just another awful port.. Are they doing this just formally, to earn a coin on collectors.
I tried Shenmue 1 via emulator in childhood, but computational power was not enough to run it smoothly. Back then I was a lot into old games incl. consoles and arcades. Shenmue started as a project for Sega Saturn but moved to Dreamcast quickly. It was supposed to be a revolutionary game drawing attention to Sega console, similarly to how people were buying PS1 just to play FF7. Sega was ambitious to create a game in 'Free' genre, widely open-world. Don't think that anyone really succeeded in this even today, though this was tried even before e.g. In TES 2 Daggerfall, there was an idea to make the world to seem infinite for a player. They didn't succeed in generation, but indeed created a world with 15000 cities full of NPCs, and now in gaming, idea of infinite exploration/generation is popular.
I still consider Shenmue a nice and serious try.

I think if the revised Shenmue 1 and 2 games do not receive all around praise they would enter cult status like Deadly Premonition or D4.

More classic games are always welcome on Steam. ^^

No remake ? Just ports with the same old models and two decades old low-res textures ? Well...Call me disappointed, emulators already offer this and more. I was hoping for something more like the Yakuza Kiwami games, that fan remake teased in 2014 looked incredible.

I played the first. What an experience as a kid in middle school, ha! The world felt so alive. Can't wait to try Shenmue II.

I nevery owned the original Shenmue, because it was very expensive for me as 8 year child. :D
But it was worth! I played it after school at my friend. But ve never complete. I really love the series and it's cool to have it on PC, because I love to collect and play my retros on PC <3

I've never played them before, but it certainly looks interesting. I've added it to my wishlist.:)

Nice, I played through the first Shenmue on Dreamcast, but i never could play the 2nd one since it wasn't released in the US on DC x.x

So, not only are they porting Shenmue I & II, but they're also adding achievements to them.
I probably won't buy it because the game seemed too weird for me and it will probably be over my budget, but it looks very interesting to say the least.

does anyone know how to see the achievements?

The games are a classic and anyone who likes the idea of a martial-arts themed adventure game set in Japan (I) and China (II) should definitely get them.
The actual gameplay is a bit slice-of-life-ish, but they're still very unique in terms of how polished they are (even with the graphics now a bit old) - they were some of the most expensive-to-develop games ever made at the time, and it shows.
