Does the project's resolution (a setting in Vegas) match the resolution of the gameplay you recorded (likely your screen resolution)? Does it look like this in the preview or just the render?
If the only problem is when you render, chances are you're rendering at a different resolution than the project's resolution. Make sure they match.

It's because of your Pixel Aspect Ratio. I recommend setting it to 1.000

Sounds to me like what Goofysoccer said or you have changed the preview settings resolution but not the render settings one there are 2 seperate, one is changed while editing the other from the window where you select the place to save the video

Don't know xD havent rendered anything over 3 minutes. Try playing with the settings like the file format for example. AVI files are normaly big, I usually use MP4 first render in loseless avi and then encode using a seperate program and the size is pretty small and it was still the same quality. The build in MP4 in SV also worked good for me I think it is named Sony AVC MP4 or something like this can't check from my phone

Hey , I started recording gameplays and editing it with sony vegas pro 12
but when i try to render the video (1920x1080) seems like the resolution changes and it ends up in smaller resolution
(means there are black lines around it )
also , there is a picture in the video that covers the chat and seems like because of that changed resolution it doesnt cover it anymore (means the video's resolution changed for sure)
need help !
