If it helps I bought this yesterday and wasn't able to pay with paypal, multiple tries kept saying that something failed with my card despite me using it for buying a fanatical bundle earlier that day. Then I tried using my card directly at humble and it went through with no issues. Something funky going on with humble.

I'd definitely buy this for $6, but $12 is too much for the 1-2 games I want. Sadly, I haven't received a personal coupon and MARCH2025 says "Invalid promotional code" (presumably because I've subscribed previously).

I am not sure but i saw other people talking about gifting the membership to themselves or creating a new account to use the coupon.
Personally, I have never subscribed before but Pacific Drive for 8cad was worth for me.

Yeah, nothing in the coupon section on my Humble account. I don't know about other coupons but MARCH2025 doesn't work for gift purchases. Another account might work, but I'm not going to risk that.

You can create one quickly with Google or Facebook. I'd swear Humble isn't very strict with payment methods.
Humble has never really cared about long-time members, so I don't see why we should care. I bought this month and canceled the automatic subscription, and today when I wanted to buy something, I saw that they took away my discount percentage in the store even though my subscription was active.

And that's where you'd be wrong, I've seen people post that they've had issues paying for things on two accounts with a single payment method. Maybe you'll be able to get away with different payment methods, but even then they'd notice multiple purchases from the same IP.

First time Ive got one of these $6 coupons (never subbed) and I'm tempted (for Pacific Drive), but not too sure about the small print.

Yeah, happened to me. I now just create a 24h virtual CC and pay it through there, if they re-activate the auto pay it won't charge.

If you're referring to 1000xRESIST, then I highly recommend you try it. It's a game I hold dear.
I really loved its multi-layered storytelling, which was done in a very unique and innovative way. There's also a lot of hidden symbolism in it and some not-so-explicit historical references.

It really depends on what exactly you dislike about anime and visual novels.
If it's the lengthy reading that puts you off, then you probably won't like 1000xRESIST either. Even if it's much more interactive than a visual novel (you control a character in a 3D world), there's still a lot to read in regards to the character interactions (dialogues). But I'd say it's more of an adventure game rather than a visual novel.
If it's the "chibi" side that you don't like about anime characters, then rest assured, there's nothing like that in here. The narration / storytelling is very seriously done.
Perhaps checking out the gameplay for a few seconds will be helpful? Just don't go too far in, to avoid getting spoiled in case you decide to try the game.

I've completed games like Disco Elysium and The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante so the reading won't be an issue. And I'm now realising that both those games have the Visual Novel tag :D ...so maybe it's just the combination of Anime and VN that's the issue. Maybe I just haven't been exposed to enough anime (or good anime) but it tends to come across as a bit nonsensical or over the top to me. By the sounds of your description that won't be an issue with 1000xRESIST though. Will definitely check out a short bit of gameplay. Thank you for the explanation :)

Much better. The 4 games from the leak are worth, 3 others look nice for me too.
And then there's Nomal Survival, bundled 5 times on Fanatical beforehand, a clear filler for the 8th slot.
It just would have taken another cheap but nicely rated game that hadn't been at least re-bundled so many times, and this Choice would have bee even better.
