Hey!
I'm throwing in another puzzle. Sorry for multi-posting, I would have made a single multi-step puzzle if I had the idea yesterday, but it happened today, so bear with me, please. There won't be another, I promise!
It's a little bit harder than the other one. Mostly because mistakes are easy to make. It's 21x21 btw

If you can't solve that one, this one is impossible. Something you used there is needed here at some point, that's the only reason. So I advise you to try to solve that one first.

No hints.

The GA is lvl3+ and is for Split Fiction (not available in RU and BY). Make me happy and join only if you really intend to play it, okay?
Good luck! ;)

Edit: I rephrased a statement above, making more clear that the solution of the 1st puzzle is still relevant to this one, but not where you might think at first

I'm pretty sure I got to something that should have given me the solution but as much as I'm looking over to see if I'm making a mistake, I can't find any but the checking tool is telling me nothing. I guess I'll have to give up and just confirm if I'm not wrong in an hour and a half or so if you want to share the solution :)

I have three or four QR readers bookmarked, the first two I tried didn't decode it.

So, this puzzle was a direct continuation of the previous one.
I gave you a similar picture in order to trick you and make you think those same characters would apply in the same way. In reality it was binary code, the 8x8 size should have given it away—you could still apply the white = 0 hint.
It translates to /R6D9DNR, a code for a second imgur picture
This is where the Robot language of the 1st puzzle comes in play.
What you're actually looking at there is a 21x21 grid where you have to place each of the robot symbols based on the letter orientation—each symbol is a 3x3 with the corresponding letter right in the middle; some of them overlap. By doing that you eventually get a QR code.
Scanning the QR code gives you the GA code KWM41
Below you can see some pictures kindly shared by WaxWorm with the solving process.

That's such an awesome puzzle! I missed the part that they overlap when I was drawing the QR code, but in retrospect the 21x21 should have been a clear giveaway for that.

Wow, just wow, I absolutely never would've gotten that. The binary maybe, but to feed it as an imgur link never would've went into my mind.

Whaaat! THIS IS SO COOL

I was caught in the trick of thinking it was like the first puzzle, so I didn't even think about moving to binary!

Oh wow. Glad I didn't pursure this much longer than I had done. No ways I would have made it that far. Didn't even think about binary and there's no ways I would have tried it as an imgur link given that I do not use the site whatsoever. Great puzzle though!

Welp, turns out I was using the inverse colors for B. At the very least I had fun doing what I did, and am glad I was right there, even if it didn't pan out. Thank you!

Seeing how only 13 people were able to solve that, I don't feel so bad ^^

That's a brilliant puzzle! I'm not sure how you were able to construct the QR code out of the Haiku symbols or how you even got that idea in the first place.

It isn't a attack, i hope you don't take it this way.

But definitive worlds too difficult for my taste of "relaxed" online things and fun.
Before i invest dozens of hours for a chance to win something and have a bad mood when i am not able to solve it after many hours, i prefer to work a few hours, lesser as needed for the solving, and buy me each game that i want, 100% success rate^^, without the risk of a bad mood.

Ps.: I don't scan QR codes. Anything can be behind it. Bad stuff too.

I get your point. A little, at least. It happened to me too to get frustrated that way in the past and it's always hard to understand when to stop and do something else. I see puzzles differently, though. To me, they're something I use to challenge myself. I like the feeling I get when I manage to solve them and usually I do that without even having the giveaway in mind. I would never get a similar feeling by simply buying the game with the money I earn. So I don't really mind "wasting" my free time that way—which is limited, btw, like for any other person with a full-time job and a family (I say this since someone else wondered). I do it just because I like it. To be honest, it's the main reason I stuck around on this site for the past... seven years now, and counting.

Regarding the puzzle creation, I'm no master. I often make mistakes and I often misjudge how easy or hard a puzzle actually is. Lately, believe it or not, I'm trying to make simpler puzzles compared to what I was used to make. This one was kind of an exception, but my totally biased opinion is that it wasn't even on the hard end, despite the low number of solvers (I may be wrong here).

In any case, I'm talking too much, I'm not used to it ;P
I'll keep your feedback in mind 👍

It was definitely on the harder end compared to the puzzles people are used to on here (intended audience plays a big role in difficulty), but it was a damn good puzzle. I got all the way up to knowing what I had to do to recreate the QR code, but as I didn't want the game, I didn't have the motivation at the time to go through and do it. I solved it in spirit, at least :')

Though people will end up frustrated if they can't solve it, I think it's fine to make harder puzzles - and I'm saying this as someone who hates when I can't solve GA puzzles lmao. It gives a bigger reward for those who do manage to solve it. I think part of it is people being used to the puzzles being relatively easy, and honestly it does suck when you can't figure it out, GA or not, but that's just part of life.

Even though you're trying to make simpler puzzles, I hope you still make puzzles like this, too. It was fun, unique, and just...refreshing? You should also look into joining code-solving/ARG/CTF/puzzle hunt communities. We love that shit.

I mean, scanning a QR code from a puzzle creator on here would be no different from going to an unfamiliar website from a puzzle creator here (ex: the recent mega march event). A QR code is essentially just a link (though sometimes it just contains plain text) in a different form, assuming your QR scanner doesn't automatically go to the link after scanning. For android phones, it just translates the code into text, then it's up to you to actually click the link.
