Oh, I forgot to bump after solving. Challenging puzzle, but certainly solvable, and I must say that there's no ambiguity. Once it clicks, you'll know that you're on the right track

I feel like I didn't find the best tools to use. For me it's very tedious to do anything and difficult to make corrections. I have an idea what the right tool should allow me to do but I didn't find any that really does, so I'm having to constantly switch back and forth and do everything manually.

I had to use 2 tools. One simple online tool, yet allowing to easily ensure the proper format, and when that failed due to a mistake, a second tool to just verify my initial attempt with the much greater flexibility it offered. I see DogOnSG already added a hint to help verify whether you're on the right track. Judging by your response I assume you are, so good luck in finding the mistake in your solution

I know the picture is not perfect with the proportions/alignments and some unwanted frustration may arise.
To my sole "beta-solver" I advised to use a spreadsheet and make the cells as square as possible. They didn't have any issue after that.

Yeah, I don't know. I feel like there's contradictory information, especially when being compared to the standard. Or maybe I just don't understand the purpose of the symbols and their orientation. Would love to discuss this spoiler free but that's probably impossible.

Same spot here, I've reworked my solution from the beginning now about a half dozen times. What I'm getting looks like something that ought to work, but there must be one or two things misplaced that I'm just not getting..

I have solved it in the meantime. I had dismissed the hints in the OP as only being related to the first part and had to factor them in again to get to the correct solution of the second part. Maybe that works for you too.

I'm throwing in another puzzle. Sorry for multi-posting, I would have made a single multi-step puzzle if I had the idea yesterday, but it happened today, so bear with me, please. There won't be another, I promise!
It's a little bit harder than the other one. Mostly because mistakes are easy to make. It's 21x21 btw
If you can't solve that one, this one is impossible. Something you used there is needed here at some point, that's the only reason. So I advise you to try to solve that one first.
No hints.
The GA is lvl3+ and is for Split Fiction (not available in RU and BY). Make me happy and join only if you really intend to play it, okay?
