that thing in the trailer about better gfx in dx12 is very misleading and lame.

absolutely.
I hope people realize that's not what dx12 does, but considering many replies here, they don't :P

Yep. DirectX 12 certainly has major advantages over DX11, but that trailer doesn't actually display any of them. It's just a bunch of nonsense designed to reel people in. Microsoft will pretty much say or do anything to get people to switch to Windows 10.

Whoever worked on it, did a good job because the point is not showcasing Directx 12, their objective was to lie and to lure people into Windows 10.

What a bunch of fucktards, only 12 year olds will fall on that and they just won more hate..

I'm still searching for those differences between Directx 9 and 11.

Win 10? no. I'll only upgrade once I'm hyped on a game that is on DX12. No games shown in that lineup I'm hyped about.

Quantum break and other XBOX 1 ports can suck a dick if it's locked on microsoft store and not on steam.

You'll never get another MS published game on Steam. Software built using the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) can only be distributed using the Windows Store. Some publishers have already started making 2 versions for PC. A win32 version for general distribution, and a UWP version for the Windows Store.

That depends really. Microsoft have made horrible decisions that've resulted in massive backlash and subsequently backed down from them in the past. Not least with the initial plans for the Xbone, but also in the PC space, such as their ridiculous attempt to charge for online gaming with Games for Windows Live. It took them over a year, but they eventually ditched the fee, although the service remained complete garbage in general of course and died a slow death.

All I can say is that I'll never buy a game from the Windows Store. I can live without Microsoft's games, and have done since I sold my Xbox 360 in 2010. Sure, it'd be nice to have things like Quantum Break as benchmarks if nothing else, but I won't lose any sleep over it.

Most of this video was only due to consoles finally not running hardware outdated 12 years ago, only hardware outdated 5 years ago. So increased polygon count, some new shaders. (And apparently increasing the saturation for some reason.)
Still, as DX12 has a new approach, it is better, yes. But it's not the sole reason I'll switch to Win10 in May, it's because I like it.
