Spec Ops The Line, from all my games,or any others,in my opinion, the game has the most connecting story written, yet.

Don't know if it compares to WD, but Spec Ops The Line has a good story imho

Best story ever is Heavy Rain on the PS3:
Ethan Mars is trying to save his son from being the next victim, while investigative journalist Madison Paige, FBI profiler Norman Jayden, and private detective Scott Shelby are each trying to track down clues to the Origami Killer's identity. The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events during fast-paced action sequences. The player's decisions and actions during the game will affect the narrative. The main characters can be killed, and certain actions may lead to different scenes and endings.

I am not sure, i think it is worth it to get a ps3, once it gets even cheaper, because the creaters of heavy rain actually are making another game http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond:_Two_Souls.

portal doesn't really have a story...if you don't count doing tests forever a story

I adored the story of how Lady Aribeth turned evil, and disliked how Fenthick was portrayed as evil through his actions in NWN2.

My absolute favorite type of game is first-person perspective with a heavy, intense story (not just shooting everything). That said, my "best of" list would contain:
Thief: The Dark Project
Thief II: The Metal Age
System Shock 2
Deus Ex
Those are the cream of the crop. I enjoyed Half-Life for its story, and although not FPS I should give honorable mention to Phantasmagoria 1 & 2 (old, but you can get tweaked, working version on GOG.com), which are classics that'll mess with your head pretty badly. :)
Also, the Thief community is still going strong after all these years, and people are constantly adding new "Fan Missions" for us to plug into Thief (1, 2 or 3) and play new stories in (and I do mean stories, --these aren't just "maps" like other games). Take a peek at www.thiefmissions.com for an example of how many there are.

What's the best games you've played thus far, in terms of the in-game story?
How the story in the game touched you emotionally, or mentally, such as games that might make you went mindf*cked like The Walking Dead? or games that have touched you emotionally, even made you cry? :p
These games focus on the stories rather than the gameplay itself. Some might even argue these games are not worthy to be called games because they're just too focused on stories, etc.
Share us your pick. It doesn't always have to be those AAA title games, there are lots of games i'm sure you can recommend, indie for example.
So, what's your pick? :D
I appreciate all of your recommendations. :)
