On the bottom of the giveaway pages there are some banners containing affiliate links I think.

steamgifts.com is a sales channel, enough said.

But also with more users comes more money.

The advertising could be a lot worse, but I am sure they are still making a profit.
And I am sure they make money by linking to places to actuality buy the games as well.

Last time (almost 1 year ago) when I talked to cg, he told me that Steamgifts never gave any profit. Money from Ads and etc never been enough for paying for servers.
So, till this moment the whole time of living website was completely supported by cg. In fact, he's just generous.

By default, Steamgifts was made from idea of Reddit users. Probably there was a sponsor on Reddit somewhere, but I wasn't able to find any proof for that. So most likely cg is sponsoring Steamgifts by money from his other projects.

Steamgifts does kind of die during busier times, so they don't have a super great server, but I'm not complaining because there's hardly any ads so there's probably not much ad revenue. Still, everyone who uses an adblocker should disable it for this site.

Even one small ad can be enough to pay for a decent server if it gets a reasonable amount of hits/clicks. Since this site doesn't have to pay a ton of employees it doesn't need to spam ads all over the place just to cover the costs.

Well I think they have an agreement with Gaben, so every time someone buys Skyrim or Fortix they get a cut from it...
