when you get to the secret inner circle, you must sign a blood contract that costs your soul and the server, everything of SG runs on human souls.

I suspect that ad / affiliate revenue for this site is at least somewhat higher than typical, because anyone who posts a steep sale here is likely to get a very high click-through / completion rate on account of people buying games on sale to give away. It's not just about the number or type of ads; click-through rates and completion rates (that is, sales) make a big difference, and SG probably does a very good job of delivering those on account of having an audience that regularly spends lots of money on games, who are likely to be in a game-buying mindset while here.
Also obviously CG takes a portion of all CV and points earned and pays for the site using that.

No, I am totally serious! CG keeps this taxed CV and points in a vast vault under the Steamgifts citadel; occasionally he dives into it and swims through it like Scrooge McDuck while laughing like a madman. Whenever people lose CV to a price change, it goes into this vault.

The thing is, cg is not who we think he is. It's actually Gaben himself. The name cg is short for commander gaben. So this site is basically getting it's money from Valve as it's secretly part of Valve. We all know how Steamgifts actually pushes the sales of Steam so it's no surprise really and just another ingenious strike by Lord Gaben.

The site is run using skyrim and half life jokes, that's why you see so many of them.

steamgamesales.com is the money cow. All links are not directly linked to the sale pages on Steam, GG or GMG, but via a 3rd party tracking site. If you buy games via the links on steamgamesales.com, they get a cut.
They dont get anything from steamgifts or trade though.

How does SteamGifts actually keep itself up? It's not like there is a ton of advertising but with more and more users, it need a bigger and bigger server.
Beside that, I see cg give away big games often.
