I Have both DLC since May 2021 and it didn't give me DE version

Thanks, I have it. I thought DE is a separate app

It's a bit complicated because of the way it's structured.
Buying DE gives you the following:
Outward Base Classic
DLC Outward: The Three Brothers
DLC Outward - DEFED DLC (This is basically full Outward Definitive Edition with all DLCs content in it (The Three Brothers + The Soroboreans + new updates)
You will not get DLC Outward - The Soroboreans - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1194010/Outward__The_Soroboreans/
but there is no reason to buy it, unless you want to play the oudated classic version with it.
You will not get the DLC Soundtrack.
The library entry downloads both versions of the game. Classic and DE if you have the DEFED DLC.

I have updated the OP to include what you get once the game upgrades to the DE.
The DE will appear as a DLC on the main game as "Outward - DEFED DLC". https://steamdb.info/app/1758860/
You will not get a new library game entry.
The DE is included as a major DLC on the main game.
In fact the game download size almost doubles because it downloads both the classic and the defed versions.
(You can remove the classic main game folder to reduce size after the download)
It's a bit confusing but the developer decided to upgrade the game this way for some reason, nothing I can do about it.

Strange, I have Outward from bundle, along with Soroboreans DLC, but Steam shows that I have the Definitive Edition version (a similar scam to Control Ultimate Edition?), I don't have The Three Brothers DLC, and why is it hidden?
After purchasing The Three Brothers DLC, it appears on the DLC list and, additionally, Outward - DEFED DLC.
So thx for info.

Ah thanks for posting, I was wondering the same... Steam also shoes me as owning "Outward the Definitive Edition", yet I definitely DON'T own the Three Brothers DLC, which, on paper, should not be possible...
So I guess it looks like there's 2 "definitive edition" versions depending on where/when you bought the game? One that already includes the Three Brothers DLC and one that doesn't? Pretty fishy business.:

Yup, I have this one too... I guess I'm becoming, unwittingly, a collector a fake-best editions.

Same here, shows definitive and shows install link for Outward - DEFED DLC on steam.db but definitely no Outward: The Three Brothers in my dlc list, definitely reminds me of control lol.
Funny when I look at Three Brothers DLC entry on steam it has the purple banner warning
"Downloadable Content
This content requires the base game Outward Definitive Edition on Steam in order to play."
While definitive edition includes said DLC.... :D Yay for fake ultimate editions lol

Control Ultimate Edition and the Humble Bundle situation was a true scam.
This one I think is more of a bad decision by the dev to merge both versions into one, instead of creating a new app for it.
He offers the DE as a free upgrade, if you have The Three Brothers DLC, but instead of getting a new app you get it as a DLC (Which includes the entire game again). It is a bit confusing.

I got the game on previous sale at 85% off, haven't played it yet
It added Brothers DLC to my Steam library but not the Soro and I considered buying Soro this sale (it's even in my cart)
So if I already own Soro in the DE (even though it's not showing as owned on Soro DLC page), then You just saved me some money with the info, thanks <3

The DEFED DLC has ALL the game content in it + new updates.
You only need the Soro DLC if you plan to play the vanilla game or if you are a very true completionist.

Thanks mate
What a messy way of doing things but it worked:)
TO clarify, The Def Ed DLC is a alot of changes yeh, so like prior to buying three brothers I was playing the older version that isnt really what the store page is boasting about (all the changes)
thanks:)

Game: Outward - The Three Brothers DLC
Price: 1.49€, -85% Historical Low
Steam DLC Link (Hidden): https://store.steampowered.com/app/1437000/Outward_The_Three_Brothers/
Steam DB Link: https://steamdb.info/app/1437000/
Steam DB Main Game (Classic) Link: https://steamdb.info/sub/354036/
Notes:
If you own the base game and The Three Brothers DLC on Steam, it will grant you a free upgrade license to Outward Definitive Edition.
The DE license appears as a DLC on the main game as "Outward - DEFED DLC". https://steamdb.info/app/1758860/
You will not get a new library game entry.
If you own the Definitive Edition already, you do not need to buy this or any other DLC, their content is already included in the DEFED DLC.
There is only one "Outward" library entry and it downloads both versions (Classic and DE) of the game if you have the DEFED DLC. You can delete the classic folder afterwards and save around 20GB of space.
Outward (Classic) was in February 2021 Humble Choice but did not include this DLC that upgrades your game to the Definitive Edition.
It was also in some of the more expensive Fanatical bundles. If you don't have it already, now is a good time to upgrade to the DE.
If you don't own the main vanilla game, the DE is also at a historical low price below.
Game: Outward Definitive Edition (DE Includes all DLC game content)
Price: 4.79€, -88% Historical Low.
Steam Game Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/794260/Outward_Definitive_Edition/
Steam DB Link: https://steamdb.info/app/794260/
