I didn't like Shank either, but Mark of the Ninja is great. Apart from the visual style and the 2d side scrolling gameplay they're completely different games. Shank is a crazy button mashing beat'em up while Mark of the Ninja is a stealth game where you advance slowly and have to plan your actions wisely.

Is the game so bad that they are willing o pay to us to get the game?

Even at that price I wouldn't recommend it.
It's designed through and through as a free2play game, yet they still charge you for it up front. There's a number of "game mechanics" designed to just waste your time and encourage you to buy the shortcuts in the marketplace. Might work for a game that's actually free2play, but this isn't.

I enjoyed it for what it was, those mechanics where you have to sit around and wait made me just log off and come back to it later. Stuff still happened while you were not online so I saw it as a nice short little casual game to play now and then for a hour or so.

We always see pricing errors on Steam, but this one is funny.
They're going to pay us to play it!
Clicky
EDIT: And, already fixed. But still good for a laugh!
