Thoughts? I already buyed and played it on Steam, but at least it is some alternative. Not best but still alternative.

I'll buy it at a discount from Steam, or at the regular price if I've actually gotten the time to play the previous games in the series before any enticing discounts emerges

If it's a Play Anywhere title there's no question where I'm going to buy the game. As for your question, in general, it's just a matter of different preferences as always.

an alternative should always be a positive thing, for us, buyers/players, tho.
i also see as a good thing a possible deal between Epic and Microsoft..

Microsoft Store also takes 30% cut for games like Steam so the developers will starve to death... It is your fault, you should have bought it on Epic Games Store.

Indeed. It's highly likely that any indie dev that's actually being allowed to sell on EGS is going to make more money on Steam despite the cut. It's not like Epic is going to let a struggling developer with a mediocre game on to their store through the sheer goodness of their hearts. It's blatantly obvious that they're trying their best to only pick the high profile games and keeping the rest out.

That's what I've been saying all along (and what people keep deftly side-stepping). EGS isn't doing jack shit for the struggling developers. They're only filling the pockets of already successful developers who can pad some EGS wallets as well.

It seems obvious once one starts to look into the matter slightly more closely. I generally don't like exclusivity but I have more respect for the way most titles are handled on the console side of game development where Sony and MS are actually funding the creation of new games

I'm still going to wait for Steam and a decent sale. I'm not in that big a hurry, since I still need to finish Last Light.
(So I guess that one year exclusivity play was a bullshit cash-grab after all).

was interested in it, I don't like exclusiveness. I have no issues if it gets released everywhere. Because of exclusiveness ill get it only if it comes via bundle or -99% on steam, there are way too many game choices on steam and I usually don't get too hyped about one title so easy to remove from wishlist in case of exclusivity and move to the next game. No biggy.

If I just check only the popular upcoming on steam right now I can see about 30-40 good games I would play without questions, ofc, probably max 1-2 I'll buy for full price if it catches me the release in that mod, even at that time purchase will be probably on humble bundle, usually that is the cheapest legit source (not interested in grey markets)
