I have a feeling it should be treated as yet another Seth MacFarlane comedy, that has nothing to do with the originals, and their brilliantly stupid jokes. (Also, it's kinda bloody too, which is weird after the originals)

I don't know what to think about this now, when it was first announced I was dead against, yet another unnecessary remake from the intellectual black hole of Hollywood but now since it isn't strictly a remake but a vague continuation I don't know how to feel 🤷‍♂️. Police Squad and the 3 movies are some of my favourite comedies and I came to them at a time when I was forging my own tastes in humour (yes I'm one of those guys that can quote the Zucker/Abrams movies 😋) so I really don't enjoy the idea of a soulless installment just for nostalgia's sake.

Not fussed too much about MacFarlane's involvement at this point, he'd be the first to put his hand up to the Zucker/Abrams DNA as it were in his projects. My bigger concern is whether the gentle (or at least not needlessly cruel) parody style of the TV show and movies can be retained in an age where things have changed an awful lot.

I will give it props though for tackling headfirst the OJ Simpson issue, in the trailer of all places. It would have been odd if they had never addressed it. Liam Neeson can probably carry it as best as anyone but I still don't know if I'd pay to see it in cinemas. 🤷‍♂️

Looks like it could be fun, will wait for some reviews before watching.
Im yet to watch the old ones, so if its good. Will dive into the series.

My first reaction after reading the title of this thread was "oh no", but after watching the trailer I must admit that it seems to have the potential of being decent, it managed to make me laugh with that scene of all the cops looking at the pictures of their respective dads.
So, let's see I guess.

This was surprisingly not as bad as I expected. It got a chuckle out of me on a Monday morning, which is no mean feat!

The trailer looks pretty good. Looks like it could actually be worthy of the Police Squad name.

Of course, it's just the latest in a VERY long, unending line of "no worthwhile new ideas from the entertainment industry."

I wonder if they picked Liam Neeson because his name sounds similar to Leslie Nielsen.

Trailer is entertaining, and then I saw it's directed by Akiva from The Lonely Island, so definitely interested.

Hmm, I don't know, I don't feel the vibe of the originals...

I admit I quickly checked the date to confirm that we're already past April's Fool Day.
It's rather intriguing.
