More endless copy pasta.

Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in two months.

The prize: 2x Metaphor: ReFantazio
Note: This means I'm giving away two copies of the game and will have 2 winners.

Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.

Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.

FAQ:

Why you doing this?

I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over nine years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.

I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?

No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.

Can I play a MP only game?

No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.

If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?

No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.

Why six games?

The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.

How long are you going to do this?

Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.

This event "ends" on May 6th when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the day after. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and don't forget to smack them down!

Steel Rats– April 2019 Humble Monthly #42Hero
Really cool idea and design with a subpar implementation. Swappable characters having individual health, but also being able to instakilled (or died because of junky physics, hitting their head) undermines the point, leading to unfair "difficulty".

Timelie – November 2021 Humble Choice(#24)No Last Eternity
Had a really bad time with it in March, when tried on Deck as a handheld, but whole month was like a whirlwind. IMO it works better with mouse and keyboard, and on a bigger screen.

Children of Silentown – February 2024 Humble Choice (#51)every "Choose the Song of the" achievements are ending achievements
It started out great, but I feel cheated, and many other will too. It starts as a "social" game, exploring a village in a very compelling dark world, doing basically point and click tasks. Then you learn songs, and to use them, you have to do unskippable puzzles. Then the whole game basically turns into a light adventure with puzzle focus. I liked the story, but such a fundamental swap in gameplay past refund window may rightfully irk some people.

Boxes – January 2025 Humble Choice (#62)Game complete
It's like IRL Escape Rooms, where most of the puzzles are locks that you need a 4-digit code, or a key. It may be pretty to look at, but plain and shallow - many times the "solution" is like rotate two discs, to free a lever, pull that, then push the button, then rotate again something. Most of the steps include only "busywork" clicking, not thinking.

Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus – February 2018 Humble MonthlyThe whole truth (accuse everyone = all endings. Achievement icons and names are spoilery!
After missing last week's family meetup, you get to know that somebody poisoned Uncle Marcus. So play some quiz with the most horrible family in the world(TM) and subtly question them, to find out the poison, the motive and the killer. I'm biased when it comes to FMV games, so I liked it. If you play it (with a guide), leave the killer's accusation as the final playthrough. You tear a new hole for every terrible family member, it's therapeutic.

Rise of the Tomb Raider – September 2018 Humble Monthly #35Ultimate Survivor
A bit mixed bag for me. Stealth is uncooked (you can't lose enemies who are suspicious/aware of you, they spot you through cliffs, etc). Collectibles give xp and lore, but THERE ARE SO MANY, it's tiresome. Overall a great story in a moody setting, stretched too long because of (semi) open world bloat. (200ish collectibles, sidequests, (kinda unneeded) crafting, the story itself is heavily padded at many points)

Edit: Question has been answered

Question for Cj. Is House Flipper (November 2021 humble choice) eligible for this challenge and if so what achievement should I aim for?

I may be a bit late in asking for this month's challenge, but might want to play it for an upcoming one if the game is acceptable for the challenge.
