Up until about a year ago, I helped run a working group that provided NASA advice on how the reuse of existing software assets can help the agency. Currently, I'm stuck doing documentation of one group's computer algorithms that produce scientific data products. It would be cooler if I were working in my original area of astronomy and doing research (I've got a PhD), but yes, it's still a good job in general.

I'd say I work with monkeys, but I'd feel bad insulting monkeys like that.

Newspaper route (200+ papers per day, no days off - even on holidays, delivering from a car instead of to doors) and various work from home office assistant jobs (stuff like creating databases, creating websites, etc).
I want to be a game programmer and designer though.

Through this summer I'm doing logistics in a company manufacturing equipment for meteorology and the environmental sciences, electronic measurement systems, industrial applications and traffic safety. I'm really enjoying it and would gladly keep doing it if I had the opportunity.

I work with people, some of them call me God, but I'm mostly too lazy to talk to most of them.
The sentence above was not true (for those of you bad at guessing it ^^)

Nah, I'm an 29yo Oil Engineer. But I hated that job so I have a small store (office stuff and a little of everythibg). Less dosh (a lot less actually), but MORE happiness. I have lots of time to spend with my son, something I really love

Oof, I applied for a job in oil fields. Even though I'd be spending about half my time in an office, the 12 hour shifts 5 times a week just looked awful :(

Engineering - I use AutoDesk Inventor Pro, the software that comes with the machinery, and basic stuff like Microsoft Access and Excel.

I guess the majority of the people here are too young to have a real job, but those of you that aren't, what do you work with? :)
