I'd highly recommend Don't Starve but no MP till Summer, Terraria or Starbound could be fun if you're into this types of games. Civ V is not a simulator but excellent if you want pure fun. If you're okay with GTA, you should check out SR3 co-op too.

Maybe you should consider a MMORPG? (For example) Final Fantasy: Realm Reborn allows you to buy houses and role-play within the world, Basically any MMORPG could be turned into a life simulator if you are wiling to role-playing. Steam has a bunch of f2p and p2p MMORPGs available, just grab a few and try them out, you're bound to find something you like.

Definitely Goat Simulator.
You can do everything from real life.
Like climbing on people's house, burning everyone on a barbecue party, fight other goats.

I did some searching and found Twinity, which is in beta. I don't think it gives you everything you want yet, but it does allow you (according to the site) to visit virtual cities, drive cars there and furnish your own flat.
