Not only that, but giveaway creators do not gain points for their own giveaways.

Right above the CONFIRM button on the Create a Giveaway page...
Stop: Please ensure the above information is accurate. Once the giveaway is created, it can no longer be modified or deleted. Winners will be automatically generated by SteamGifts at the time of closing, and not selected by the creator. Creating a fake giveaway, or not sending gifts will result in negative feedback, and your inability to use the site in the future. Thanks for taking the time to startup a giveaway! If you have any questions, head over to the forum.
It's easy when you either don't read the two giveaway creation pages and/or ignore the rules.

Yes there ave been certain public giveaways that were removed and various of this giveaways with those "ITS FAKE DONT GIVE GIFTS THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!!! PLEASE DO NOT ENTER/BLAME THE AUTHOR THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!!! PLEASE DO NOT ENTER/BLAME THE AUTHOR THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!" I hope the admns are doing something about these

I assume the point refund is automated. If it isn't then I agree, punish them for not reading the giveaway and don't refund.

Good to hear stuff is being done. I suppose the mods are keeping a close eye on the Black Ops giveaway?

How the hell can it be an accident when you have to go through the entire process of clicking on CREATE GIVEAWAY (which it couldn't possibly be more clear) then choosing the game, setting the time, setting if its public or private and typing the description? Its obvious bullshit.

Well thanks for explaining the process. Heh. I do wonder why people enter so many of them (I wondered it in a topic earlier to be fair), but I guess sparing a few seconds to read the giveaway info is just too much time for some people

It's an accident because they're either 12 or have poor reading skills (either because they can't read English well or they're just not very smart). Some of these people seem think they're magicking up some gift from the Steamgifts Giving Tree. They seem to think this site is perhaps associated with Steam, and when they get the points, they are "creating a giveaway" to win the games they want.

I love your giveaways, even those I don't enter. Their always funny :)

Is it really so easy to create one by accident? I see so many giveaways these days where the creator is like
"ITS FAKE DONT GIVE GIFTS THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!!! PLEASE DO NOT ENTER/BLAME THE AUTHOR THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!!! PLEASE DO NOT ENTER/BLAME THE AUTHOR THIS GIVEAWAY WAS SUBMITTED ACCIDENTLY!!!"
Is it really so easy to make one by accident? I mean granted, I suppose people do this for points but all the same
