Wait what? Offer is void if canceled or paused?

But for 6 months deals, you only pay 1 month at a time when you sign up, like those US$9 for 6 months deal. I wonder what IGN means when they say "this offer will be void if your plan is canceled or paused" Does that mean that if I paused on the second month, I paid CAD$139 for just 1 month?

Never heard of year offers being canceled on pause...
If they really to this from now on they can fuck off.

Where do you see this. Its not in my email. I don't see it on the site. If I try and buy it with the code given its does not mention this.
Mine is good to Feb 2026 if do no skips. I also have unused gift link from Dec to add. So I'm good to Feb 2027. It will be longer since these are skippable. I was wondering if I should buy another and just hang onto it. But not if its going to change my type somehow. But I'm not seeing this limit anywhere,.

"Coupon is redeemable for a Humble Choice Premium plan at €99 or $139 CAD a year before any applicable taxes and fees. "
So with coupon it's 124€ after taxes, normal price 109€ with taxes already included.
Also I don't think premium has existed for many years now?

It'll rise from 10 to 13€ too. So relatively the price increase is bigger for us Europeans.
I expected that to happen for quite some time, after all the price lasted since they switched to the current mode. And we had quite the inflation meanwhile.
MapGenie+ is a nice bonus.

I don't have an email yet as US. May be CA and EU only
I also tried to jump the shark a bit and see if I can get a yearly discount with the MAY2025 coupon code but it doesn't even seem to be live yet for me? It says discount applied with price change from $129 for one year... to $129 for one year.

ah, PsyKo mentioned that EU and CAD were the only ones mentioned when he replied to me but I was trying to find where that text was within the email. Yep I see that now!

if the enshitification theory is true, it will stay the same or worse

It won't increase anything but the price. They're course correcting because the dollar is in the shitter right now, that's all.
They're not asking for more money so that they can get you better games.
That certainly explains the quality of this month's bundle though. They are hoping it will make the pill easier to swallow.
They're wrong.

They only change the prices when it's good for them. Look at Steam's convertion ratio for Poland -> last time they changed it during covid when USD was strong and PLN was weak -> but they refuse to revalue the exchange ration now :(

Oh no, the one thing I buy that hasn't had a price increase since at least January 2017. USD$12 then, still USD$12 now. Regional pricing made it CAD$15.
$12 in 2017 would be $15.66 today. $15.66USD would be $21.70CAD. New price will be less than the rate of inflation.
I'm guessing USA will get a price increase. Probably around $14. Could be $15.
I don't think there is anything else in my life where the price has not increased since 2017. Most things increase every year, sometimes more than once.
I'm going to keep buying it. It's still a good deal. Bought one in October 2017. Been buying every one since January 2018.
p.s.
I asked a friend what hasn't increased in price since 2017. He had one thing: Costco $1.50 hot dog and soda combo meal
p.p.s
Humble Monthly started November 2015. Price was $12. That's almost 10 years. Inflation calculator says it would be $16.19 today.
*Humble Choice tiers had a higher price (classic subscribers had the original price still at $12. Regional pricing caused price changes outside USA.

We get > more of your money.
You get > IGN+ no one asked for, Non- Steam keys, mapgenie+ or whatever the fucc that is.
What I hate most is why do we have to bail out IGN with our "Games for a good cause" money? So that we can read their groundbreaking takes on how Doom 2016 feels like "Too much doom"? or how concord is a 7, veilguard is a 9, but somehow invincible season 3 is a 4?
Humble's new management can join IGN to succ my ass.

I strongly suggest reading the whole review of episode 8. It shows the rot that is game media.

It wasn't bad I swear. Ask the people around you or online and you'd get your feedback. That was just some schmuck jotting down his feelings on corporate payroll. And also someone who's paychecks we will be supporting in the coming month onwards.
Edit: Same guy gave Snow White a 7 xD
I swear to god its a cult.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I don't remember it being bad. It might have some similarity with season 1 finale but it is a 7 or 8 at least. Still going to rewatch it to see why the reviewer gave it a 4, that is a score worse than the new Captain America movie.
I haven't watched Snow White, I am afraid of the 7 dwarfs giving me nightmares, lol. But I trust Letterboxd's review of 2/5 more than IMDB's 1.6/10. 7 does seem to be quite high

IGN is no big think in Europe. I don't use it often. But the map genie is really good if you like RPG's and similar games. I booked this sometimes before.
The IGN+ games have mostly a to low stock and you come to late. The other parts of the site are not more interessting then other sites, wouldn't pay for.
Comment has been collapsed.
They could have imtroduced a higher price tier with IGN+ and mapgenie+ for people that want them.
But ofc they won't. The "OH-Ma-Recession" excuse is the same as the "Oh-Ma-Covid" excuse. I bet m,y life savings we will never see that price drop to back down in this lifetime.

Mapgenie is at least a nice site, and the plus has some bonuses...that you may want or interested in (Digital maps for games, interactive, marking important points, and you can save, organize, and add your own stuff to it I think). It's a genuinely nice site, but not super useful for many, and a "wanted" feature for even fewer people.

So, $3 extra for IGN Plus, something I have no interest in and will never use. The value of the games we get gets worse (Origin keys anyone?) and they choose now to announce a price increase, and slap on IGN Plus as a justification? Bold strategy.
Also, I'm still waiting for 31 keys they stole from my purchases. Lovely. 🙃

I'm still on classic plan from 2016 or earlier (since the first Monthly (former name).
Someone knows if this changes something, if I switch to new yearly discount now?
Before some years, only the classic users could get all monthly games and new subscriptions only 8 from 12 or similar.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think one of the yearly subs switched from the classic sub at some point, unless you somehow avoided that maybe by paying month to month or something. It was unavoidable for me at least. I don't think classic exists anymore and it also makes no difference whether someone has it or not, they did away with that program..
Comment has been collapsed.
the difference is you pay $12 instead of €10
Its barely any difference, but now it could be that the price doesn't increase for classic. But who knows
Comment has been collapsed.
So I guess the only way to keep staying on classic was to pay month by month without ever canceling, only skipping? I'm assuming I had switched when I took the $89 deal for a year since being from the us it was anyways going to be $12 for me. Didn't even know choice was €10 in EU. That was a pretty good deal, $24 cheaper per year vs the US.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah you can skip as much as you want but I just never actually cancelled. $12 and €10 is basically the same thing.
I also took a deal for a year but that did not require me to change plan, it just kinda gave you 12 "credits" for Humble Choices. This offer you do have to actually change to annual.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah I have the same. It feels like the standard monthly price of $12 won't change for us, but the email isn't really clear about that.
I do feel like if you change plan to annual you will get the increased price afterwards. There was a coupon for a year of Choice like two years ago that I could use, but that didn't require you to click "change plan".
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah i didn't take 1 year with pause, so even less without pause.
Also i find it more fun to wonder "do i take this for 10€ - now 13 - or the fanatical platinum for 10€ or just 1 game i really want for 10€ ?
In the end, it's a better way to maintain the quality you hope for in your library.
Comment has been collapsed.
Eh, if the bundle is good I'll fork over the 13 €. Since it is now a 'check games first, then decide to buy' kind of deal I don't see the problem. Including EA keys is more of an issue for me.

Changed the plan from classic to monthly on january this year since it was the only way to get 6 months discount. It has switched my currency from $ to €. If classic plan price won't get the price increase now, it may suggest they have been planning to increase prices in Europe for some time and they deliberately didn't offer discounts on classic plan before, in order to more people switch to €.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ironic that € is stronger than US $ yet Europe is the one that has the price increased.
Guess tariffs are going to hit hard on digital intangible goods? /s
If Humble Bundle doesn't want European customers they only have to ask nicely, no need for try to squeeze our money before they kick us out.
Comment has been collapsed.
In theory no, it doesn't affect.
This is like the other "month" deals they currently have, that instead of giving you or redeeming the month automatically, they give you a discount for the month that it just doesn't work anymore if you pause or cancel.
Becuase you don't make any kind of purchase every month, in theory, they can't apply this new way of deal.
But we can only wait and see how they manage it.

EDIT:
So far only confirmed for Canada ($14.99 CAD to $17.99 CAD) and Europe (10€ to 13€), potentially to readjust for exchange rates since the time they changed to regional pricing.
