With all these birthday topics around full of joy and happiness, the great misery befell me and my family.

My poor cat died recently and hereby I declare the rest of this month as June of Sadness.

Our family always loved both cats and dogs but this cat was special to me - he was MINE.

I have chosen him out of the pack of young kittens, raised him, fed him, played with him and he returned his love to me with the most precious thing any animal can offer - his trust.

He came to me every night to sleep with me while purring all the time to bring me to sleep, he did me company and was my valuable friend in times of my loneliness.

Rest in Peace, my friend.

Days of Sorrow:

Day 1: Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad. (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
Day 2: What you must understand about me is that I’m a deeply unhappy person. (John Green)
Day 3: Any fool can be happy. It takes a man with real heart to make beauty out of the stuff that makes us weep. (Clive Barker)

Yeah, I know the feeling. Those memories will stay with you forever. Remembering can make you sad, but given time the memories can make you smile as well.

Totally agree with you. So far remembering brings tear into my eye but I agree it will change over the course of time and only these nice things will prevail!

Sorry for your loss. It's always sad when we lose a companion, but at least we get to keep the bond we had with them.

I feel for you, lost my 15 year old cat last December. It might not feel like it now but the pain goes away, good luck.

I know it does, memories will prevail. It's like any other death - time is the best doctor.

I am really sorry to hear about your cat's passing. It's super rough when these things happen, I wish you all the best during these days. I love cats so much, exactly this is why I don't have any.

I'm sorry for your loss... losing a family member is never easy, and when we love so much our pets they become more than just pets but family. Hope everything gets better for you and your family!

I'm very sorry for your loss, but don't be sad!

I'm sure your cat will be living very happily in the other side! Maybe when the time comes, both of you will reunite again! :)

I'm so sorry for your loss ;_;
Having a pet and knowing it will die one day, very likely before you, is just destroying me.. Like a couple of months after I got my dog, I evolved a fear of losing him and I wish we could just die on the same day because I know already I will be so depressed and sad when his days come to an end :((

I am really sorry. I myself own an asshole of a cat who bites whenever he gets the chance, yet I love this asshole.
Hope you will find the courage to get a new one in the future :)
