Which review did you enjoy the most? (Please vote only AFTER you've read the magazine)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, another issue of only gaming magazine I read
Let me be the first one on the thread to thank you for the issue.
Now, I'll wait to pick up a cup of coffee and confortably start reading. But I'm already knowing it will be a pleasure, as always

Woohoo!
I'll make a cup of coffee and start reading.
Thank you for all the effort! 👍
Edit:
Thronebreaker
Page 29
"Clunky and slow overwork movement"
Did you mean "Overworld movement"?
That's something I remember from the game when I tried it aeons ago.
Edit 2:
En Garde!

Cat lady stopped speaking english ;)

Thank you for reading and pointing out these mistakes! As you can imagine... a lot of things can slip through the cracks with this sort of project :(
Also, the cat lady (Paige) did that intentionally ;)

Ah, no worries then ;)
Edit:
For those who are curious, Reverso gives me:
Derocha encanto aun con las fallas
You have charm even with the faults
OR
It wastes charm even with the faults

I really liked the nuance of Paige cosplaying as "Adalia de Volador" and giving us her final verdict in Spanish. Like doing Method Acting!
"Derrocha" literally means "waste" as the act or an instance of wasting.
In context of the phrase, the word means "It has so much charm, that the charm overflow and spills from the game". Something like "It drips charm".
Perhaps something like :
"Drips charm, even with the faults"

Falo already gave a wonderful explanation, but as the (improvised) translator for that one line, this is what I was tasked with translating:
"Despite the issues, this oozes charm!"

Thank you for pointing this out! I've addressed this with the designers, and we will see if we can do :)

Hi!
I appreciate the tough but fair review. I'm amazed someone even took their time to write about the game in the first place ^-^.
I can understand why you would do some investigation, as several games of different genres created in different engines have been published. Some projects are solo made, while some more ambitious projects have multiple people on board. We are also learning and testing the waters to some degree to find out what we are best at doing. Maybe some day you will play something better and even more ambitious we made :).
Kind regards
//Freja

Thanks for reading our magazine! We love it when devs of the games featured themselves come in and give it a read! A shame it couldn't be more favorable, but maybe next time :)

No problem! Thank you for always reading and contributing :)

I wouldn't have thought controllers could be weaponized, but it makes total sense. So far, their only good use outside of gaming has been being a reason why several billionaires were deleted in a mini sub. More of that, less controlling of drones and such please.

They were already being used earlier:

It does make sense. They are perfectly designed for stuff like that.

True, haha! Maybe we should make it more focused on early access and other things like that in order to give more light to devs who need some love.

You're a major player in making it all happen, so thank YOU!

Great issue and wow on the designs! I love that there's both good and bad reviews. If anything I would change, it would be text size. With different types of fonts some can be harder to read, I find myself reading these zoomed in for the most part too. It wouldn't have to be "my mom reads only large print books" but slightly bigger, for sure. I also understand not wanting to use too many pages.
The creative designs are what keep me coming back, and the reviews themselves and peppered-in content make me stay.... love this group!
For the record, the most easily-readable reviews were later on with En Garde!, RDR2 and Circles, feels like a nice break for my eyes, lol.

That's totally fair! While I personally want to go for a more standardized approach regarding text, a lot of the designers want to personalize their text in their own way, so this sort of thing hasn't really been established. I'm glad you like our reviews and designs despite some of the pieces of content not being too readable for you, though!

Very fair, and noted. Could you tell me which were the hardest to read?

I found Thronebreaker using an outlined font may have been better as titles or small quotes out of the review. But, I see the reason for using it too.
Life is not Auto was a little narrow, which to me is harder to read naturally, like the spacing is big with narrow, small letters. It's manageable but not as enjoyable I guess? As the brain is kinda straining to put it together, if that makes sense.
There are definitely creative fonts that are easier to read, like 8doors, Turnip Boy, and Chonkers stood out as being really attractive and simple.

I really appreciate the detailed feedback <3 will share with the rest of the designing team!
I hope you still liked the issue :3

Bi-monthly sounds great
You really shouldn't be killing yourselves for this so it will leave you more time to do things as you want them and time for us to enjoy the numerous pages.
Thanks for another issue! Nice range of games in here.
Seeing RDR2 on the cover really makes me want to play the game (I got it on sale last Xmas but I need my new SSD first!)

RDR2 was a wild ride. Once I played 80 hours (and barely touched the story), I thought I was ready to write my review. Then I played another 70 hrs mostly of story-related content, and had to almost start my review from scratch. It's such a masterpiece. I thought it was clunky to start, but once it clicks, it really clicks. Enjoy it!

I really enjoyed your review and it makes me want to play the game even more. 120 hours is a loooot of time to pour into a game over many months and the fact that 70 of these at least were dedicated to story content is amazing!
I just can't connect to games that don't have a solid narrative the same way I get sucked into games that are narrative forward and RDR2 seems like the kind of game that's going to suck me right in for months and I'm all for it

Thank you!
Yeah, they went above and beyond when it comes to writing. Sure, the world is beautiful and there's a lot to do, but it shines in treating the protagonist as a flawed human, and in observing his growth. Then we got all the cinematic tricks from Rockstar to enhance that feeling, with some dream-like sequences, a lot of good camera framing and panning, long silences .... it's great.
I think I played it as my main game for 5 or 6 months, with the occasional PAGYWOSG play on the side each month hehe

That's a beautiful thing. I was just having a conversation in the movie thread about how we can't seem to be able to accept public personas (and by extension protagonists) as flawed human beings anymore and it's a great shame. As human beings, we are meant to make mistakes and to learn from them.
In a game that takes place in such a brutal space and time, the mythical white hat wouldn't be a character that draws you for hundreds of hours into his journey. We need a redemption arc and it needs to start in a place of human failure or nobody cares where it goes from there.

Google Lens is decent enough at translating if you get a good picture of your entire screen :)

🙄Smartphone...I can't grab it because I've thoroughly disabled Google related functions...for the convenience of space rules.
I didn't spend money on Smartphone in the first place and I own a fossil.😭
Anyway, I'll try to think of a better way again, thanks.

Oh, you don't even need a smartphone to do so. You can just upload a screenshot from your computer or drag n' drop it into the Google Lens feature of the Google Search Bar and have it translate the uploaded image for you.
If you disabled it even on your PC then... idk haha

We are perpetually in need of designers, but all roles are always open! Take a look at the main hub if you want to apply :3
Hearing people enjoy the mag is what keeps the project alive!

Hello, everyone!
Thanks for the support, as always!
Here, we, technically, have reached a bimonthly release state! We're aiming to produce these at a faster rate without compromising on quality! Again, as always, we love this project, but we would love more help with creating it so we can produce issues at a faster rate! If you're interested, feel free to contact me or any of the other staff if you're interested :)
You can click here for the "Magazine Experience." The recommended method to discover and flip through the magazine's pages! For easier navigation, you can use the "CTRL button + scroll wheel" combo to easily zoom in and out on the pages. You can also hold the left-click button to drag around the page. It makes reading easier if the base zoom isn’t enough for you!
