My usage rises a couple of % when loading the page but then it stays at 0%. Doesn't last long enough for the CPU temp to rise at all.
If you're getting continued high CPU usage only on Steamgifts, could be a browser extension or Tampermonkey script that stopped working properly. Or worse got compromised and is trying to mine crypto or something. Disable everything you have and check.

oh wow. I did not know that Chrome/Edge had a Task Manager. TY ref

Suspect that there is something wrong with your browser.🤔
However, it is also true that only INTEL CPUs these days can generate very high heat, so I can't say that this is absolutely true.
Well, you can try to install a tool that constantly monitors the performance of your computer on your desktop.

Yup. It's a huge resource hog, especially on Chrome for some reason and particularly on the Won/Entered GA pages if you have the "Created/Entered/Won Giveaway Details" option enabled. I strongly recommend turning that feature off. It seems to run a bit better on Firefox.

I usually have like 10-20 pages of steamgifts when I'm out of points but don't want to forget to join some giveaways before going to sleep lol Nothing unusual, check any recent changes / different browser, one time my laptop was overheating cause they put too much thermal paste and it kept heat after drying

Thanks for sharing. I spent a bit of time today trying to replicate the issue and track down the source, and it appears to be the text-shadow CSS attributes on SG causing the performance issue in recent versions of Chrome. I'm assuming they'll identify and resolve the bug at some point, but to fix the issue for now, I removed the text-shadow attributes. If you can, please confirm CPU usage is back to normal on your end. Thanks!

So recently I noticed the temperatures of my cpu goes up to 80 when i get to steamgifts site in google chrome, and its only tab that draws high amount of power, and wanted to see if anyone had similar issues here.
And what would be the solution.
