Seems to be free weekend only. Launched the software and got greeted with a "Steam Free Weekend" banner. And there are also buttons to buy the full version, so I don't think that it is free to keep forever :(

Yeah, currently it's the wrong version, that's why there's a little shitstorm going on in the reviews and discussions.
But the developer already stated that it's a mistake and they will fix it :)

It seems that on the part of valve the free cards with this type of promotions ended, he believed that it was something punctual but the sign appears indicating that being a free version does not drop letters a pity for future games that give away.
