I'm also not here for any items, I just hate this happened to you :/. My brother lost his steam account a few years ago, but managed to get access to it again with help from Steam Support. Luckily in his case, none of his items or anything had been tampered with, so he changed his passwords and setup 2 factor authentication. Still though, sucks it happened. Hope your son can still enjoy gaming with peace of mind from here on :)

Hi, sorry to hear that, mine got hacked too in 2012. Deauthorize all devices and change the password worked for me. Its a nice account keep it and be cautious next time don't open steam account from public pc's. Its just a opinion.

It's sad to hear that he'll give up on a hobby because the whole thing got soured by the malicious acts made by some random hacker, the situation is likely salvageable but I can relate to not wanting anything to do with something after a bad experience, it's a very human reaction. I hope he gets over it eventually.

Well Wigglenose, you can let your son know that I've finally touched the trade system on Steam (After 19 years of using it) and so a little light comes from his dark hours just now :)

I sent him a quick note too. Just to let him know that he's likely going to get through this a bit stronger and wiser than before.

I can't say I know much of the social aspects of gaming outside of message boards. But let him know that everyone here is rooting for him :)
