Are you a cat person? (Doesn't exclude being other animals person)
Today I lost my cat too. Died in his sleep, out of nowhere. Can only guess he didn't suffer.

Funny you say that, since his name was Lucifer. Reunited at last.

I'm so sorry for your loss ..can kinda relate as I lost a kitten in my arms once. hope he didn't and hope you arent rn :(
Altho him being named Lucifer and all he may have a very good chance of cruising with the Devil himself so a tiny smidgen of a bit less painful cause Satan is cool (I've heard :!) !

Click on your avatar top-right to access your user page. Other stats I got from the community stats (bottom menu) or from the account page. Few stats were taken from my personal game lists on Steam collections, e.g. I have a collection for 100% finished games, which tells me how many I've actually completed regardless of what Steam profile says.
For the days, google for "date difference in days" or similar, there are several tools for that.
You can use your OS calculator, but I suggest https://heldercorreia.bitbucket.io/speedcrunch/

This is one of the reasons i only watch animal videos on the web, to avoid the difficulty of facing and accepting loss

I am very sorry to hear about your sad anniversary.
I lost "my" cats over 4 decades ago and still think about them sometimes. They were wild cats who lost their mother, so we brought them in to feed them. Two of the litter made it (when we found them, they were nearly starved). They used to roam the countryside and return for food or some time in the house whenever they felt like it.
After a couple of years, they suddenly disappeared. And I still have fond memories of them. 💗

You are in my whitelist, and have been for years already. 💙
I'm also a cat person. I had a cat called Mickey. He died of old age 20 years ago. He was a cute kitty.

Sorry for the loss, even though its been 9 years, i bet it still stings just the same. A few days ago, on the 26th of march (My birthday, which was shitty) i noticed my cat was having trouble urinating, turns out he had a urinary blockage, i was scared shitless for a few days, he's still having trouble urinating but at least he's taking food thats helping him, still, i dread waking up one day and him not being here anymore.

That's a close catch, because cats don't show pain as other animals, e.g. dogs. My cousin's one also had that problem. Once they're on their special food, there should be no problems; this cat (Vladimir I suggested to my cousin, and he liked it) never had them again. So I hope your special mate has a long and healthy life.

The 10th anniversary of my cat's passing was in January, we adopted her when she was a 3-weeks-old baby and I was 9 years old; when she died, she was over 20 and deeply senile, and yeah, it wasn't pretty. At that point, she'd been with me for all of my conscious being, and I simply couldn't imagine life without her. She still comes to me in my dreams a lot. But 4 years ago my mum and I finally understood that we were ready and adopted another baby (this time around - 5 weeks old, once again there was a tiny kitty in dire need of saving), and now we are proud owners of an adorable ginger moron who somehow manages to make us laugh. I hope one day you'll be able to get a new cat friend again.

First, ginger cats are said to have only one neurone; and it's shared among all ginger cats at the same time. But I've seen smart ginger cats, and tons of all kinds of cats doing stupid things. My cat was smart; e.g. she knew how to open doors, but she knew that meowing made a human come and open the door for her faster and easier.
Second, and much much more important: you don't own a cat. The cat owns you. Unless it's white. That's a grey area...

I mean, I have a document that literally calls me her "owner" (her veterinary passport, that is). Still, can't argue with that, wrong wording on my part. She's my cat, and I'm her human.

I can get you a document with an official seal that says you're the owner of the Eiffel Tower, for only $50 plus s&h. And the same as your document, all in the known will not believe what it says.
(The official seal is from the spanish Navy. I don't remember if I have one, or two to choose from. But it's still an official seal.)

There are many pets, beyond cats and dogs, that give endless love if you give them good care and love. For example, owls (big and small) grown since chicks are lifetime soulmates. Some people like herons or stoats. Any bird in the parrot family, big or small, is also the same, tho they might be a PITA if they're too smart (seen that video where the parrot says "let's go to the park" to the dog?). Talking or not, they also live a lot, larger parrots reach 60yo easily. Iguanas can be dog-like but, they run on huge claws, something to take care about unless you want to have "love scars" or destroy your floor. Chinchillas and similar can also be nice to have, but don't get one who usually lives in groups, as they develop anxiety for not forming part of a large colony. Sugar gliders and chinchillas are soft, sweet, fluffy and very loving.
Those are just ideas, but the deep thought I want to give you is "having a pet is a responsability, it's money, it's time, but it's worth it". As long as you can interact properly. You can have an aquarium and say "how pretty" but zero interactivity. You can have an exotic gecko but you really can't do much with it besides taking care of the ants which are the only thing your chosen species eat. And the ants smell like crap (2nd hand real story).
And don't buy if you can adopt.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know it still hurts even after 9 years. No one can take away all the good memories though.
We lost our family dog many many years ago, but I still think of her and the fun adventures we had together.
seeing those original boxes for Links in your photos takes me back to my childhood

Sorry about the cat, you should try getting a new one - even if only to look after for a while. Nothing can alter Ilargi's passing, but she might like to know that you can still show love to cats and make them feel nice though.
Nice Gil Elvgren artwork in the second photograph. Looks like a fun household :)

Cats can be very loveable and yet some can be terrors.
Interesting that you've added 24 to your blacklist since your birthday. I cleared by my blacklist for the icaio memorial train thats so far still ongoing. Note to self, add a few more carts soon. So far my blacklist has crept up to 1.
My current ratio is 2.14, bounced above and below 2 over time.
Surprised how big this stat grew.
32,069 games have been added to your filter list.
Thats a lot of time clicking in itself.

That's something I forgot to add. I have 13,654 games ignored in SG, and 18,115 ignored in Steam. The ignored list management is simply non-existent in Steam, I'd like to correct some stuff I ignored in my early Steam days, but there's nothing to help me. I think they're shown in the order they were ignored - oldest first. But not even sure of that.

I know that feeling, no matter how much time passes the feelings never really leave you. My family has had so many cats over the years sometimes I can't bear to think about them and last September my beautiful Ollie joined them quite unexpectedly. Being on my own now is often unbearable and even though I can't imagine my life without a cat, right now I just can't bring myself to consider another. I hope you fi d your way through this difficult time
I don't know if it's connected or if it's just the world in general (election time here 😬) or if I I'm just thinking too much but April Fools is really quite annoying me this year. Every other year I've been ambivalent or disinterested but this year I just felt riled up and annoyed at every (often painfully obvious) "joke" that's come my way. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this 🤬, now I'll just go to my chair on the porch and rail at birds with my stick....

So, today when half of the world is doing jokes and pranks, it's the 9th anniversary of losing my cat Ilargi. Missing her for 9 years. Missing having a cat for 8 years.
So here you have some idiotic stats.
I've been in SG for 2,009 days and some hours (not counted). That's 5 years and six months, if you live on Earth.
I've written 12,232 comments, that's 6.089 comments per day. Verbose. I've also created 67 discussions, that's 1.015 per month. It doesn't seem like many, but the length of some of those posts could numb you.
I've reached a contributor level of 8.88 (and I doubt this year I'll get to 9, read below), which means $2,878.09 CV ($20,931.30 raw value). That's in 1,305 giveaways finished (I always try to have some running), and a clean 0 "not received" ones. Daily, I've put $1.43 CV in 0,0650 giveaways, each giveaway making $2,21 CV per giveaway. Note that 304 of my giveaways are 0CV (still included in those stats). You know, bundles and rebundles and giving away this or that game too many times.
About winning, I've won 570 giveaways, of those 548 are games, and 22 are DLCs. I've won more giveaways but when there was a problem with it, I always let the maker to delete the giveaway, or reroll if it's available. IIRC I've never ever won a DLC I already had (I might be mistaken but I carefully track and ignore here which DLCs I have.) Ok so I've won on average 0.284 giveaways per day, that's about a bit more than 1 every 4 days, and the stats page tells me I've won 15 more than I should have (IIRC I've been at +27, but the last year started a lowering trend). To win those giveaways, I've entered a wopping
96,113 giveaways, 47.841 per day. Tho I've been lowering the daily entries way more than before to see if that average lowers too. In terms of dollars, I've won $1,691.98 in CV ($5,562.93 raw value), that's about $0.842 CV daily.
I used to have a beautiful 2:1 ratio (always a bit over two), but due to concerns about my backlog, past year I bought few bundles, meaning fewer giveaways, meaning a decreasing ratio. This year it'll go worse, as I am trying to buy as little as possible. One charity bundle (Safe In Our World) and one unmissable sale at 95% off because I was angry that day (Robocop Rogue City Alex Murphy Edition). So my current ratio is 1.7:1. Still positive, but in everything I take part into, which deals with giving and receiving, getting and sharing, I have a personal rule to always try to attain 2:1 ratio. So for me 1.7:1 is a low ratio.
I am in 689 whitelists, thank you very much, people, and in 70 blacklists, for whatever reasons. Myself, I have 324 people in my whitelist (I must work that better, yes I know) and I have 24 people in blacklists. Probably most of you don't know, but in my last birthday I deleted everyone from my blacklist. Sometimes I regret it, sometimes not.
And finally, one stat that I'm pretty proud of. I have a 100% "played" games according to SG stats (if not, it doesn't stay at 99% for too long). That means I have tried every game I have for at least 5 minutes, not that I've played them to the end. Actually, I only have a bit above 150 finished games (144 with all achievements), tho not are listed in my Steam profile due to "profile features limited". I've made a big progress since beginning 2024, and I'm still working hard so all those won, bought, gifted, got in promos, free or whatever-the-origin-is games are played. My current target is a 10%, it would be 467 games, still so far... And trying all games for a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 5 hours) also means I got many games with 1 or 2 achievements, which explains my poor, poor achievement percentage in my Steam profile, which bugs me so much.
And for the readers of all this statverbositily (not in the Merriam-Webster dictionary) here you have a small giveaway. Thankfully I had a cat-related game. It's StrikeForce Kitty, with the last letter in uppercase.
Cya around.
