So, today when half of the world is doing jokes and pranks, it's the 9th anniversary of losing my cat Ilargi. Missing her for 9 years. Missing having a cat for 8 years.

So here you have some idiotic stats.

I've been in SG for 2,009 days and some hours (not counted). That's 5 years and six months, if you live on Earth.
I've written 12,232 comments, that's 6.089 comments per day. Verbose. I've also created 67 discussions, that's 1.015 per month. It doesn't seem like many, but the length of some of those posts could numb you.

I've reached a contributor level of 8.88 (and I doubt this year I'll get to 9, read below), which means $2,878.09 CV ($20,931.30 raw value). That's in 1,305 giveaways finished (I always try to have some running), and a clean 0 "not received" ones. Daily, I've put $1.43 CV in 0,0650 giveaways, each giveaway making $2,21 CV per giveaway. Note that 304 of my giveaways are 0CV (still included in those stats). You know, bundles and rebundles and giving away this or that game too many times.

About winning, I've won 570 giveaways, of those 548 are games, and 22 are DLCs. I've won more giveaways but when there was a problem with it, I always let the maker to delete the giveaway, or reroll if it's available. IIRC I've never ever won a DLC I already had (I might be mistaken but I carefully track and ignore here which DLCs I have.) Ok so I've won on average 0.284 giveaways per day, that's about a bit more than 1 every 4 days, and the stats page tells me I've won 15 more than I should have (IIRC I've been at +27, but the last year started a lowering trend). To win those giveaways, I've entered a wopping
96,113 giveaways, 47.841 per day. Tho I've been lowering the daily entries way more than before to see if that average lowers too. In terms of dollars, I've won $1,691.98 in CV ($5,562.93 raw value), that's about $0.842 CV daily.

I used to have a beautiful 2:1 ratio (always a bit over two), but due to concerns about my backlog, past year I bought few bundles, meaning fewer giveaways, meaning a decreasing ratio. This year it'll go worse, as I am trying to buy as little as possible. One charity bundle (Safe In Our World) and one unmissable sale at 95% off because I was angry that day (Robocop Rogue City Alex Murphy Edition). So my current ratio is 1.7:1. Still positive, but in everything I take part into, which deals with giving and receiving, getting and sharing, I have a personal rule to always try to attain 2:1 ratio. So for me 1.7:1 is a low ratio.

I am in 689 whitelists, thank you very much, people, and in 70 blacklists, for whatever reasons. Myself, I have 324 people in my whitelist (I must work that better, yes I know) and I have 24 people in blacklists. Probably most of you don't know, but in my last birthday I deleted everyone from my blacklist. Sometimes I regret it, sometimes not.

And finally, one stat that I'm pretty proud of. I have a 100% "played" games according to SG stats (if not, it doesn't stay at 99% for too long). That means I have tried every game I have for at least 5 minutes, not that I've played them to the end. Actually, I only have a bit above 150 finished games (144 with all achievements), tho not are listed in my Steam profile due to "profile features limited". I've made a big progress since beginning 2024, and I'm still working hard so all those won, bought, gifted, got in promos, free or whatever-the-origin-is games are played. My current target is a 10%, it would be 467 games, still so far... And trying all games for a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 5 hours) also means I got many games with 1 or 2 achievements, which explains my poor, poor achievement percentage in my Steam profile, which bugs me so much.

And for the readers of all this statverbositily (not in the Merriam-Webster dictionary) here you have a small giveaway. Thankfully I had a cat-related game. It's StrikeForce Kitty, with the last letter in uppercase.

Cya around.

Are you a cat person? (Doesn't exclude being other animals person)

Someone in my family lost her cat very recently. An unexpected illness sprang up and nothing could be done in time. The cat was not very old too, so the surprise was quite devastating for her. She plans to get the kitty's actual paw prints tattooed in remembrance. It's nice that you're keeping the memory alive with the shared photos and thematic giveaways. Animals enrich our lives. Ilargi looks very sweet, and the painting is amazing!

Stats are fun and yours are very impressive! Always trying to have a giveaway running is inspired. Plus, that 100% play rate? Amazing. Number crunching aside though, I believe anyone who gives more than they get is going above and beyond. You've certainly been doing that! If I'm doing the math right, I think I'm above 2:1 ratio right now? I want so bad to keep it at least at 2:1 -- for quantity if not also cost. It's quite hard with my circumstances and an uncharacteristic lucky streak isn't making it easier. There... may be some plans in the works to rectify this...

Stats! wow. Impressive all around and I'm not saying that just because numbers scare me.
What a beautiful kitty. What was he like? Cats can have such funky personalities.

I'm collecting all the brushed fur to have a hat made out of it. My cats are only 3 years and the other 9 months, so hopefully there's lots of collections still to do. Super sorry for your loss! Love all cats <3

I will always regret that I was not there at the moment of death with my two cats, who were dying in agony because someone poisoned them. After that, I didn't have any more cats.

I'm so sorry for your loss. The pain of losing a pet is terrible, as it's a member of the family.
I know some people hate it when others treat animals like people, but I'm proud to have a doggy nephew: Ciro. And I assure you, if something happened to him, I would be devastated. For my sister, her dog is her child; I don't even want to imagine what it would be like for her if something happened to him. I can attest to the fact that she's incredibly paranoid every time Ciro gets sick.
Finally, if I saw someone hurting our dog, I truly believe I wouldn't be ashamed to turn that person's head into mush.
Edit: Of course, I've also lost pets. We've always had dogs at home, but we've also had rabbits, parrots, and turtles. There are certain animals we no longer want because it's cruel to deprive them of their freedom. Their death hurt a lot.

I'm so sorry for your loss, even if it was from so long go. Let it be known your post made me give my cats a big hug :) Always good to have a reminder of what you have before it's gone.

Love the watercolour painting. It's such a lovely way to remember her by.

The 100% playrate is fantastic. Ideally I wish to strive for that too (i.e. playing all the won games for a while to get a taste of each), but with standard-issue hard disk space, I can't really install everything all at once. In the end, I play things sequentially and that ends up rea l l y l o n g.

Hey JMM72.

You already talked about Ilargi in the past. And I feel you about that. Mine is 12 years old. Not so old, but no so young too. I know hat it feels to lose a feline friend. I aleady lost 6 in my life, each time hurts as bad as the previous one.

But what counts is the love you shared with Ilargi, until the very end.

If a cat reaches 10-12 years without any important illness (kidneys, liver, etc.) there's no reason it can't reach 18-20 years. Or more. Or well, luck might get in the way and suddenly you have a loss. Ilargi was put to sleep 7 days before her 18th birthday. Just like people, you never know what could happen to your relatives or yourself tomorrow. Stay away from Dr. House is a good advice, get near him and you'll get a surprise rare illness that they'll only diagnose properly 50 minutes later.

I wish you both a long a loving life together.
