When you buy Battlefield 2 / Bad Company 2 on Steam, do you still have to use Origin or can you actually bypass it and play with Steam?

I'm pretty sure you buy it ANYWHERE, you dont have to use origin. at all.

BF2 doesnt even redeem on Origin

BF2 IS redeemable on Origin, but it requires some support chat. BTW, I had only BF2 and 1 expansion pack, and they gave me full pack ^_^ It's was nice thing =)

I'm kinda thinking of buying darkspore from origin, because I'm european and on steam it's €50. And since I don't think they'll ever fix that crazy pricing, maybe origin is my best bet...although I'd really like it a lot more if I could have it on steam. :/

Buy it! It's a pretty good game :) I've made a mistake by buying it on Steam when it was on sale and it still cost me 12,49 euros. Now it's only 5 euros on Origin, you won't get it cheaper anywhere else. And you can always just put a shortcut in your Steam library - the game is not updated through it anyway.
