You get 6 points every 15 minutes. The only other way you will receive more points is if a giveaway you entered gets deleted, the points you used to enter will get returned to you.

Yes, you use to get 5% of the Steam retail value of all the giveaways created which made sense because you get more or less points based on the number of giveaways created. Now there is a static point generation that has nothing to do with created giveaways. Here is my opinion on that change.
It was originally dropped to 5 points per 15 minutes and then bumped up to 6.

Yeah the new system makes no sense. There are massively expensive games being given away and the result is there's never enough points to go around and you end up counting your points like money hoping you can get enough to "afford' to enter a random roll where your chances to win the game are 1 out of 2,000 sometimes. It's like a currency at this point.
I don't even get why the points exist but it was making more sense where they represented a percentage of the value of the games being given away.

A static point generation seems frustrating when lots of giveaways are being made and wasteful when free giveaways are being made.
I'd send my vote for some hybrid where you earn, perhaps 5 points per 15 min plus 1% of the value of giveaways in that time frame. That might not be perfect, but it provides a baseline while allowing for some variation.

It is an incentive to make people consider more what to enter. As a side effect, it could also maybe encourage users to try their won games with the additional free time they do not spend entering everything. Who knows, maybe you will also finally try one of the games you won in the past 5+ years when you sufficiently get bored enough of RUST.

There's no way to get more points but it helps if you leave the giveaways that have a long time left and enter giveaways that only have hours left. Then when you get your points back you can enter the ones with longer ending times again.
