Quickly checked wikipedia and it is indeed trademarked in gaming still.
In 2001, the Japanese software company Falcon acquired the trademarks for Sokoban and Thinking Rabbit. Since then, Falcon has continued to develop and license official Sokoban games.
Fun fact sort of related to this: "Dumpster" is also trademarked. Or rather " generic trademark ". despite everyone calling all huge garbage bins as that.
