Well, I'm not hyped but I'm very curious to see Resident Evil 7 in action and also what will become of Assassin's Creed next year.

Like an expansion, truer words have not been said before, even the takedown cameras are the same... For me there isn't much better for it to get, just story, locations, gadgets and abilities, boss fights, maybe more gorgeous views was and.. that's it, can't honestly see it getting better than this now, doubt they will make the stupid AI better.

Well, System Shock 1 is getting a remake… slowly… really slowly… and sadly on Unity. But if they don' fuck it up too bad, then there can be some hope that the original DX1 gets a nice modernised remake. Remakes can surpass the original even in gameplay, as Resident Evil has shown us.

Indeed it is but Im not hyped or liking it, seeing as I never got to play the previous two, doesn't look good to me, looks worse than Dead Effect, no offense, I know System Shock is iconic with that robot killer lady and all, but anyway, a remake is neat, very wanted in many cases. DX1? Ah the first Deus Ex, yeah, wouldn't be bad at all but at the moment a renewed update will have to suffice unfortunately. Hmm, I don't know about surpassing but the remade first Resident Evil did look pretty darn nice. The remade Flashback definitely didn't surpass the original though...

Slowly? Where are you coming to that conclusion? They literally just finished a Kickstarter for it. There's also nothing wrong with Unity. It's a toolset, like any other.

The first time I heard about it was early this year or late last year? So far we have a half-working pre-alpha demo of a quarter of a level. At this rate, I am not expecting it before late 2018.
Unity is terrible. Its only advantage is that it is multi-platform, but it is a terrible resource-hog. I loved how Unity engine managed to lag the 2D/3D Pillars of Eternity on my PC, because it had terrible times rendering a single large layered 2D image… Or how the only hidden object game I ever had frame rate issues on was made in Unity. I had less trouble running Flash games…

They had a skeleton crew working on making a proof of concept demo before the Kickstarter. The Kickstarter was so they could hire more staff to ramp up development. Unity is literally only as terrible as the developer using it, it doesn't inherently cause any of the problems you've mentioned. But, they did suggest they might switch to Unreal for the full game, mainly to avoid people screaming about how badly Unity "sucks."

Well, mostly because it sucks. There is a reason why many people hate it like Flash. Flash itself is not terrible, but experience taught everyone that just because in theory it should be good, in practise it rarely, if ever, is.
So if they switch to Unreal, I'd be happy, even though I'm using an AMD GPU.

Hyper Light Drifter was made in Game Maker. It really, really doesn't matter what engine something is made in if the developers know what they're doing.
You're basing your opinion of Unity on the fact that a bunch of moronic amateurs release trash using it, which can also be said of Unreal, but Unreal's been used widely in the industry for 15 years, whereas Unity wasn't even widely known until maybe 5 years ago.

No Flash is terrible as a tool in many ways. Unity in comparison WAS terrible until version 4 which made it a quite good toolset, now with version 5 also the really bad UI toolset was redone. The tech-spec shows it is quite a good engine - with more ease-of-use than unreal or cryengine (less complexity - yes: that also means less power in some regards). However it is also lacking behind them, but only if you intend to create some AAA stylish game. For your casual indie developer it can be a powerful toolset, if used right, with decent performance and a bonus of easy multiplatform.

Shadowgun Legends, Sonic Mania, Toejam and Earl: Back in the groove, Age of Empires IV (rumoured), Con Artists next Warfare sequel, Studio Whisky Tango's next game, Dead Rising 1 on steam (check it, it's there), Sonny 3, a studio creating a faithfull Burnout Takedown inspired game, XCOM 3, State of Decay 2, Days Gone, Mortal Combat 11, House of the Dead 5 (rumoured) and...nothing else comes to mind for now...maybe The Walking Dead Season 3 too, and Tales From the Borderlands 2 and Game of Thrones season 2.

I am talking about announced games, so no HL3.
Personally I am mostly looking forward to see Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 being released, hopefully with an improved multiplayer and a longer storyline than part 2.
I will probably also buy Civilization VI and the silly indie game called Totally Accurate Battle Simulator when they come out.
What games are you hyped for?
