So I thought I'd had a weird dream but nope, it was real and I'm hyped
Apparently Hidetaka Suehiro (creator of Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die) is making another game

"Welcome to The Good Life. The game is set in Rainy Woods, the self-proclaimed "happiest town in the world." Here, you'll play as Naomi, a photographer from New York who finds herself stuck in this small town in rural England. She's found a way to pay off the massive debt she's accumulated, but she soon discovers that the town is hiding a very bizarre secret...

At night, all of the town's residents turn into cats. Why does this happen? Is this why everyone in town is so happy? No one seems to remember what they do at night. Naomi is here to find out what's going on in Rainy Woods"

The Good Life About Page Is Real Interesting and Thorough

The camera mechanic looks really interesting especially (I'm an amateur photographer, so it's cool to see a game go so in depth into method and not having it just be point and click)

Basically this game is probably going to end up being what I do for the rest of life from the soundsof it

I know SWERY has many passionate fans, but I don't know how succesful his games are (in terms of profits) so this could be a risky investment for those planning to throw some hundreds of dollars on Fig. The artstyle looks interesting, reminds me of Professor Layton (same artist maybe?).

yeah, that's the main reason why it's interested me so much, the art style is so different from his past two games. his games are pretty polarising when it comes to critiques, its a game you either love or hate ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Apart from the setting, the basic game-play sounds 'Animal Crossing'-like (but more wacky).

Though round about 4 years too late for a hefty 1.5mio goal I fear.

I understood the 'happiest town in England' was Northampton. And rather than turning into cats at night the people have an affinity for 'dogs' or at least dog related activities. There was a notorious incident last year where an amateur photographer paid off a massive debt with the assistance of a mobile home and a lot of of kitchen roll - but I believe she was from Newcastle rather than New York and you could get a hell of a lot more than a computer game with $29. A lot of people seem to pretend not to remember why they were so happy...
