Need some opinion regarding purchase of laptop.

I am looking forward to buying this laptop

Do any of you guys own this one or have any idea how it is? Buying Pc is not an option so please don't suggest that.

It's fine to install windows and one or two favorite games on. It's got a terabyte second disk for all the stuff that doesn't need the speed of an SSD.

depends on what you do..
i don't use hdd anymore and can't thinking about going back.
If you only play one or two games, sure. But with other programs 128gb are at least for me not enough (especially when i would pay 1000$+ for a laptop)

I still have HDD and nothing is wrong with HDD if you ask me, for most games you wont even notice the time change :)
Maybe it is just me :)

SSD only really makes a huge difference for the OS and some games that does a lot of level loading. It's true 128Gb isn't much, but you're always going to make compromises when you buy a laptop and 128Gb is certainly enough.

I have lots of games installed but only a couple on the SSD, because most games just doesn't benefit from it - or a second or two of loading time doesn't make a difference to the gameplay. Doesn't matter how many games you play, a few will always be the most important ones to you.

I will say that my brother owns a ROG (not that one but another ASUS ROG laptop) and they are rly good. He has his for 3+ years now and the laptop is still running smooth.
So I would say buy it, but on SSD I would only put windows or only games :)

I also own a ROG but with a gtx 960m. It's working fine but this would be a big upgrade over it. Yeah I am only planning to put windows on the ssd.

For what it is, it is a good laptop for a nice price. it can run most any games at the 120 fps required for its display, assuming you run the games on mid-low to medium settings.

You should know that since it is a GSync laptop, it means the dedicated graphics chip will always be turned on and you cannot switch it off, ever. (The competent engineers at Nvidia are unable to make Geforce Optimus, their own power-saving feature, compatible with Gsync, their supposedly own self-made adaptive framerate technology. Probably too busy tuning Nvidia Experience to cripple the competition even more.)
So, even buying it new, don't expect the battery to last more than 5-6 hours with simple browsing and 1-2 hours while gaming.
Also, the SSD is only big enough to host the OS, games and your stuff must go on the HDD. It is not a particularly heavy trade-off, even for games, but it is a trade-off nonetheless.

I plan on mostly playing Action Adventure games and Action RPGs so wouldn't mind if the laptop is able to push 60fps at higher settings. And thanks for the info about Gsync and not being able to turn off dedicated cpu, didn't know that.

I have a ROG laptop with similar storage capacity (128 MB SSD + 1GB HDD), 16 GB of RAM, but much worse processor (i7-3610QM) and GPU (670M 3GB) since it's more than 5 years old. I'm slowly saving money to buy a desktop PC, but I've been really happy with it over the years :)
