1996 video game
still on of my favorite real-time strategy games and i still have the disc
Nebula Fighter 3D
https://youtu.be/IQBl0Nnchkw
was like a megaman ship shooter. every boss you killed would let you take its weapons. at any time you could swap between each. the more dots you got, the more upgrades your weapons would get
music still sticks with me
played a bunch of clones since than and none of them are as fun as a game that came out in 1998

Heretic/Hexen

Not even a HD remake is needed for me,I'd be more than satisfied with quality remasters.

XQuest (1994-1996) simple game where you move a lil thing with the mouse, collecting crystals, avoiding obstacles and enemies. Requires high mouse movement precision.
Dune II - no need to explain...
SuperPang - there's a sequel in Steam, but SuperPang (the 2nd game in the series) is the one I'd like.
Solomon's Key. A puzzle platformer which intrigued me so much, I was never able to play it to the end.
Marble Madness. I don't remember how old is the DOS version but it's very old. There are many similar and better games, but I'd like that game with those 8 (?) maps and exact mechanics.
Elite. The original one.
Starglider. Very old flight thingy with wireframe polygons. It was so fun.
Rick Dangerous 2. Another puzzle platformer, very fun, very difficult.
Grand Theft Auto I and II. Top-down driving but same criminal actions. I liked so much to go where the hidden Viper was and start with the best car of the game (in 1st game).
Epic Pinball. Easily my fav computer pinball ever.
Captain Blood (1988) a very strange adventure where you travel to planets and talk with aliens in a symbol language where depending on who and where one symbol could change meaning. It looked so interesting, but I never got too far with it.
Boulder Dash Series (1984-1987) - aka Rockford. These are the ones I played when younger. Two games and a construction kit with some premade levels. OFC nowadays the real way to go is Rocks'n Diamonds (free, search for it).
F29 Retaliator (1990) flight sim. Simple, direct to the point, primitive. But I'd like a proper remake of a game that has been superseded by pretty much every flight sim after it.
Silent Service II - same as above. I've tried several sub sims... And I still like SS2 better.
Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road (1990). Silly 2.5D offroad racing, single screen. Tons of fun with a friend.
OutRun Series (1989-1990) actually the best way to play OutRun is through any arcade emulator that supports the original version.
Test Drive. So old. So bad graphics. I still love it. Or maybe it's idealized memories. I had so much fun with it until I finally got through all five stages with all cars.
Pango. Another arcade ported to computers. Action puzzle, pushing blocks to kill enemies. I was so bad at it.
Ports of Call. The original sea transport tycoon. There's a modern version panned by too many.
Rampart. Puzzle+RTS? It was fun.
Star Control II. Yes, that SC.
Stunt Island. So many planes, I just wished the Island would be Larger.
Syndicate. The first one. The 2nd one? I never passed the first mission!
Willow (1988). And yet another arcade port. But the DOS version kinda sucks.
Xenon Series (1988-1990). One of my first and fav vertical scroll shoot'em'up.

And my most wanted: El-Fish. With high resolution. Sadly, the algorithm to make and move the fishes was sold to another company. Not the El-Fish brand tho, so it would be a sequel, if anything. You know what's wrong with modern aquarium simulators? After playing El-Fish, you feel the catalogue of available fishes severely limited.

I played many, many hours of Silent Service II. Great childhood memories. The explosions and ship models looked fantastic (or so I thought back then). Watching the pixelated lines of your torpedos inching closer and closer to your target. Always hoping you calculated the angle of your shots right and the enemy not zig-zagging in the last second.
Sink the Yamato!

Epic Pinball, Test Drive and Syndicate are also very good suggestions I can get behind.

As for my own, I would also like to see Sim City 2000, Prince of Persia, Wing Commander 1+2, HoMM 2, Microprose Grand Prix and Magic Carpet.

Veil of Darkness

An amazing game in multiple ways, but the gameplay mechanics are rough, and it expects too much from the player. A remaster/remake with just a little less trial-and-error would be fantastic.

M.A.X.: Mechanized Assault & Exploration
I'd at least also want some qol features though, not just modern graphics.

Freakin' Funky Fuzzballs

I don't know what that game isn't available on stores when Sir-Tech's Wizardry and Jagged Alliance games are.

Screamer. Released on Steam and GOG in a less than satisfactory state, the game was amazing back in the day. Pretty sure I still own my original disc.

Hmmm, One i would like to see but i'm not sure if it is available is, Castle( or island) of Dr Brain, i tried playing it on my old 386sx but it was unplayable owing owing to my black and white monitor and some of the puzzles being colour based

In fact it was weird a few years ago playing the the original xcom and realising it was actually in colour

Another vote for a Hexen/Heretic remake, especially Heretic, damn that was such a great game for its time, really tried to take the FPS genre in an interesting direction.
