You should give Berseria a try. I think it's interesting that their Tales franchise was going downhill, so Berseria was their desperate attempt to be glorious again. Apparently it worked.

There was some hate since Xillia, I think. Then Xillia 2 was even worse. Then Zestiria was even worse. Apparently anyway. I didn't play it. It's probably still decent, but Tales games used to be -exceptional-.
I started with Tales of Symphonia, which was amazing - one of my favorite RPGs ever! Then I played the other Tales, and they were okay but I felt like they got less and less good. I stopped after Tales of Xillia 1 because that one was just too bland. I would have continued to the 2nd one but my coop partner, that I played all the Tales games with, was just done and didn't want to play another one xD. I'm not sure what happened with Xillia 2 and Zestiria.
But Berseria must be super good if it's reviving the franchise^^

So have you played Berseria? If you have, I'm curious what you're opinion of it was.

No. I wanted to this summer, but my Tales partner did not believe in it, and I'm dependent and can't play Tales games alone. And now that we want to play, we're too busy to schedule it. Hopefully soon... I hear the story is nice and dark.

As much as i can say playing Berseria was better than Zestria for sure and it was worthwhile although when people try and compare its expectations to older tales games they generally say its worse off. tbh since i have only played Zestria and Berseria, Berseria seemed really good for someone who had not really touched the tales series before.
The biggest thing for me was the story was drastically better imo combat was supposedly better removing Zestria free running/movement system and such.

Steam Direct doesn't look promising, but I don't really mind if Steam adds 100,000 games to their catalog. I don't buy from their store anymore (since this happened) and their search options are already useless even with "only" 10,000 games or so. All I need Steam to provide me is a reliable client and easy installation of games that I purchase (elsewhere).

Bump and thanks!
The funny thing is that I don't see too many of the crap games when I'm on steam. Some show up in the exploration queue at sales, but that's about it. Instead I mostly see them when I browse GAs here. Straight onto the filter they go - I now have 9217 games on there...
In that sense I don't see Steam Direct as very different from Greenlight. It's essentially the same, but without the pretense of having voting and stuff. There was already enough crap there, and the negative votes didn't matter in the first place. And Valve are clearly not about to start manually curating things, so a straight-up transaction to get onto the store beats transaction plus having to compete with botnets and bought votes. Maybe they should make sure no one submits 100 games for one submission fee though...
But yeah, I feel for the good games being buried.

Steam greenlight was a mess, tbh, far too many crappy and unfinished games... it needed a rework asap, but I don't know if the new solution is better, for me it sounds like Valve is getting even lazier, but well, only time will tell.

Direct is shit, like I thought it was at the start. Instant access to the store for a $100 is not a surefire way to keep shit out -.-.

I'm not convinced the new system on SG will get rid of bots.
As for Steam Direct, I look on the positive side of things there. While it does allow more junk, it also allows some good games in that wouldn't otherwise make it. And, as someone who continues to toy with the idea of developing a game himself, having a relatively easy avenue to publish gives me hope.
I personally don't feel like I have to sort through that much garbage, at least not currently. Games I hear about on through friends, in bundles, on SG, on the home page of Steam, or played by reviewers usually cover just about anything I'd like to play. It's rare that I miss something. Meanwhile, I'm barely conscious of all the garbage.
Thanks for the giveaways.

I think long-term nothing will get rid of them... But who will dare running one, if it's a permanent suspension... :) Is that 100% undetectable bot really undetectable, or are the bans delayed one month to mess with people... :)
Thank you too, and look for the new puzzle! :)

Valve's idea about direct was to open the flood gates and let the lack of trading cards stop asset-flip games from being profitable, however, as always, people who exploits the system found a away to profit: 1000000 achivements games. Zup made them realize that they didn't need to do anything. Some people will buy it just to get achievements, if it's cheap enough. They went as far as writing the amount of achievements in the game thumbnail...
Valve was then forced to act and removed some games. Let's see what's they're gonna do next, because direct failed spectacularly.
Also, bump!

Hello , I'm not sure to understand how people can get to level 5 with 1 $ games? do they spam buy and gift them here back? I've some "big games" from humble bundle to giveaways they ain't rewarding good with xp / level so , well atleast someone who don't have these games can have fun

Umm, I haven't actually looked at the details, so that may have been an exaggeration on my part, sorry. :)
But basically, on Bundle Stars there are a couple "30 games for $1" or "50 games for $1" bundles. So you'd buy a bunch of random garbage and give them away. Lots of CV, for practically nothing. Not sure if you can reach Level 5 with it, but it's a lot cheaper than buying junk from Steam... :)

I have no opinion about Direct. I didn't really have one about Greenlight either, I never looked or cared about it aside from couple times when something in there caused a huge fuss that people wanted to boycott. I haven't educated myself on how Direct differs from Greenlight and... I kinda don't feel like I'd need to anyway. :D

Oh, I actually put it in the correct category this time, i.e. FREE STUFF INSIDE, CLICK HERE. You're welcome. :)
There's another puzzle added, so look around for it. It's in here somewhere... Umm, try reading or something. That link you didn't click on yet? Yeah, it's probably that one.
Hey, the weekend's coming. And I have no plans, but after reading the amazing topic I couldn't resist throwing some money away on random Level 5 humans to celebrate. Yay! :) You can imagine I pasted a bunch of celebration-related gifs in here, because I'm too lazy to hunt them up. Hooray for imagination! :)
Sorry, it's just a few cheap ones, because I'm cheap too. Oh well. And lately, Level 5 costs like $1 at Bundle Stars, so if that's too high, just spend a buck and go create a hundred crappy bundle junk giveaways, there's bound to be a few people who didn't buy all that stuff yet... :)
Obligatory Skyrim Rap: Gods be praised
Obligatory difficult anti-bot puzzle
OBLIGATORY MORE FREE STUFF protected by an even more difficult puzzle
Super-obligatory hint because some idiot set the hint timer wrong: COPY AND PASTE, PEOPLE! Sorry! :)
Good luck, humans! :)
Be sure to bump this when you solve the puzzle. Or umm, ok I don't care if it gets bumped. And bumps just reduce your chances, and we don't want that, do we? Let's just hope it dies in a couple hours.
Good luck, human! :)
So, as you're a human, you can read this dumb question which is probably just an excuse for me to bump the topic after people forget about it:
What do you think about the replacement for greenlight, Steam Direct? All I can think of is reductio ad absurdum, i.e. Valve's anti-curation taken to its logical conclusion. Soon the Steam store will contain 1000 real games, buried under a million pieces of game-shaped garbage. Good luck finding anything you'd ever want to play. No shortage of +1s for the game-collecting lunatics, though... :)
p.s. I was going to make a Skyrim giveaway, but the store's been saying Processing Payment for the last 15 minutes so never mind. Hopefully I will remember to check that tab next week or something... Sorry gang... :)
