Copy the "trade URL" in the third-party sites section.
Post it in the original post.

That way people can send a trade offer without having to ask for a friend request.
Whenever you want to stop people sending trade offers, click the "create new URL" button and the old one will be unusable.
If you fear that people would share that URL with others, check that the trade offer comes from someone who has posted here. If you find tracking users uncomfortable, well you don't have to use that trade URL. Just an idea in case you think it makes things easier.

Your account has been hacked. I recommend that you check a few things, as they may help:

1nd check if the attacker has direct access to your PC or device, through a Trojan, backdoor, rootkit or some other type of malware. It is recommended to format (download the programs again from the official website as they may have been tampered with), do not rely solely on an antivirus, there are encryption programs that allow malware to remain undetectable, there is no point in recovering access to the account if it is still there to get you again, avoid running third-party programs whose origin you do not know, always keep an eye on the programs that start with the system and the processes that are running

2nd check if you still have access to your email, otherwise it is possible that it has obtained your password somehow, avoid using the same passwords for different services, use long and complex passwords with numbers and letters, this prevents leaked passwords from accessing other services or weak passwords that facilitate brute force attacks in hash or rainbow table

3rd check if you still have access to your phone number, techniques such as SIM swapping can clone the chip depending on the security of the operator, and often bypass the 2FA

4th avoid links from third parties that you do not know, attacks such as XSRF or even XSS are possible legitimate actions in systems and websites only through links, or some social engineering attack or something like that directing you to a fake page that looks like the real one

5th the platforms do not contact you through third parties, always through official means, do not provide your password or credentials if requested, do not modify anything in your account even if someone asks (if it is personal to a specific platform, they have internal means for this, they do not need you to do this)

6th personal information can be used against you in some way, so avoid providing sensitive data, such as full name, date of birth, addresses, among others

7th always be suspicious of everything, as they say here in my country there is no such thing as a free lunch

steam account highjackers are tame, watch out for creditcard scams, telephone scams and other scams in general
don't open fake emails, when external images in emails gat loaded a request is made to the scammers server with your email, marking your email as an active one

maybe suggest to your son this could be a testbed to practice more ways to secure and manage an online account in general - vulnerabilities and threat actors will always try to leverage anything that remotely has any value...if he doesn't deem his steam account to be valuable - then if it gets hacked again, he will hopefully have no attachments/negative feelings associated with such an event.

there's other interesting things he could still use the steam account for other contests and gaming integrations.
