Did that happen to you too?
it only works for one. i use a program that makes it think the game is open, so you don't even have to download the game.

open the game for cards first then play the game you want and you should get cards for only the first one. they could have changed it. 4 cards away from my 200 max sale for a year so kinda stoped

You should try with a single game at once.
Card drop times have been increased due to the refund policy

No issues here. (I'm not idling multiple games at the same time though).

Since I discovered idle master my life has changed. My pc thanks me for not having it overheat everyday :) also, I lost weight and it helped me overcoming the issues I had with my body. THANKS IDLE MASTER!

I have to agree on Idle Master. I was recently converted to this method & I swear by it. :) The price is unbeatable, as well.

It still works, but differently. How, and the possible reason are explained here:

Best is one game running... but now all game drop the first cards at his time + 2 hours (for the refound policy on steam).
Bye!

You should idle one game at a time, if you don't want to interact with it (changing games etc.) download IdleMaster it logins to your account and automatically idles games.

Your Laptop/PC went into sleepmode so it didn't run the application.
(despite it being open)

It seemed the only reasonable explanation since Idlemaster still works just fine for me :P
It does seem to take considerably longer now.

open all games using SAM then idle it till reach 2.0 hours
after that, close SAM then use idlemaster

I've idled for 8 hours in seven games. no card drops. :(

You can always launch multiple games at the same time for two hours, then begin your "real" idling. (I don't take credits for the idea, thanks to a SG chat user. :P)

So, I found out last night, idling in games no longer works to get trading cards!
I used to lunch a couple of games, minimize them (to lower GPU and CPU load) and go to sleep. 8h later I'd have my cards.
Not any more, I fired up 3 games last night, 10h later I had exactly ZERO cards in my inventory.
EDIT:
I appreciate the number of good tips and info in this topic, but like 75% of the replies are irrelevant. Let me explain:
READ what the topic states, BEFORE saying you need to be in-game for more than 2h for a card to drop!
TL,DR:
I know about the 2 hour thing, enough already.
