It surely isn't for your ratio .... impressive and well done there! :)
Might be for your previous 2 topics, even though you were new some people just think those are "dumb" questions. I mean the Guidelines and FAQ have the answers but if you are new, you need reassurance, you think your in the wrong and want to right it ... asking how to level up though ... that usually gets a fair few blacklists.
Other reasons ... well here are some old topics with a bunch:
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/V0YhL/
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/LibGc/
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/zozaU/

Honestly, people blacklist for valid reasons and completely illogical ones, you're level 7 and have only 6 blacklists ... you are doing better than the VAST majority of SG users.

Thanks so much! Also, to be fair, I was very new when I created those discussions XD
I do appreciate you pasting the links to some of the already made discussions about this. I only posted this because I'm curious on what I am doing wrong since my ratio isn't really a problem and in some of the discussions, the OP's issue was ratio mostly.
P.S. I added you to my whitelist :)

It's very common for someone to get blacklisted for making a thread about getting blacklisted. In fact it's probably kind of rare for someone to not get blacklisted for doing that.
If you want to know something silly, there was one time I got blacklisted for recommending some retro games. I know that was the reason because I hadn't been posting for a while and that was the only thing I posted about at the time it happened.

It honestly doesn't matter. I have a whole bunch of blacklists, and many of those are a badge of honour from 3 years ago when I added my thoughts to a discussion where I condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. And I stand by that sentiment. People will blacklist for any reason. Don't take it to heart. If you have 6 blacklists, that's tiny. I have x10 more by now I'd say. I don't keep count.
There are sooooo many people on this site that if a few people blacklist you, who cares. =)

Opening such a thread is a reliable way to get on some blacklists. I blacklist people violating SG rules, not doing giveaways for years, doing group only giveaways exclusively, doing region restricted giveaways only while entering global giveaways without qualms, being a person who in my perception I wouldn't feel comfortable to give a game or anything else for that matter.

You have 396 wins and you played literally zero of them, you didn't even farm cards from them. I guess that's the reason in your case.

Thanks! I also do use a randomizer app on my phone which I added all the games I own from steam. Just in case I don't know what to play or install next. I'm just guessing that the games I've won here haven't been picked from it that's why I haven't played it.

You can do randomized suggestions on SteamDB ("What about a random game?" section down below), it's much easier than adding each title one by one

The "Play a Game You Won on Steamgifts" group has been helpful for me to play wins. The theme makes it more fun than just a random choice, and it gives me a once a month goal, that I often stick with longer just to tackle backlog.
I start with a short SG win, then either a long SG win, or my oldest backlog that qualifies, and go from there

Play a Game You Won on Steamgifts (PAGYWOSG) does monthly themes. There's no penalty if you don't finish a game you tried to tackle. If you finish a game, you get access to some giveaways people make for the month. If you don't finish a game, well you probably at least played part of the game, so that's a step the right direction! That's why I do a shorter game first (a 4 hour game can take me 3-6 days of my gaming time), to have an achievable goal, then a longer game, to try to tackle something meatier. I'm often pecking away at longer games for a while after the event.
Play or Pay, however, has something about finishing or having to make a 10 point giveaway, or something of that nature.

+1 for POP
7 games are picked for you, based on their length. 2 Short games, 2 Medium, 2 Long and 1 Very long game.
In order to cross the minimum requirements, u only need to beat a minimum of 2 games. Worst case scenario that is like 2 Short games in 3 months. Extremely doable. I was apprehensive about it as well, initially. But it is soo much fun, I don't need to be hard on myself and can game without the feeling of a deadline. You can even tell the picker to switch a game incase the selections don't sit well with u!
Most surprisingly, I found that selecting games for others based on their requirements if any, is extremely satisfying. POP, BLAEO monthly themes and PAGYWOSG...with one or all of these, you won't ever need to worry about what to play next :)
Edit: I also find the fact that someone created separate intuitive websites for these events super cool, makes me feel special while utilising them!

All has been said here. Pop (but also Pagy as said by Yamara) are the best motivators to play your wins

In your case it's full random, nothing you can do.
In my case, i'm on +20 for giving my opinion or telling too much about my life here and there
I could blacklist only people who would be a hassle to provide feedbacks, but it's not worth it, i'll never meet them a second time anyway.

Someone have mentioned how bad my backlog is in this thread.. and I didn't realize this, but I apparently have not played a single game I've won here. Which I thought I did. But, it was good to know. I'll start playing them for sure once I have extra time.

I only blacklist people who have blaclisted me.
Seems only fair to reciprocate.
One person got blacklisted for bringing up why I had blacklisted them during an active GA, I hadn't but did for that.
Other than that I've seen no reason to blacklist people.

Enter giveaways, be told you can't because that user has blacklisted you. Go back to where you tried to enter and open that entry in an incognito window. Copy and paste their profile back to your logged in window and blacklist them there.
That's how I do it,if there are other ways I'm open to them.
Again, I only reciprocate and so could be on others' blacklists but they don't post GAs publicly for me to find out.

Everyone has their own ideas as to how to use lists.
I leave them alone personally as they seem like trouble in the making but I understand people wanting to use them and am happy that they have the option to.
People can blacklist me for whatever reason they want, I'm happy that they have that option and wish it would transfer onto bots also - but we're not there yet.
All I do is recognise their opinion and share it with them :)

That will be my next challenge then!
I've done one group GA (I was added into it and again, reciprocated) but mostly public, trains or puzzles.
I'll need to add more people to my whitelist before I get around to it though, so might take a while ;)

I do get that reasoning, but I still think it's unfair to be gaining ratio creating giveaways that most people can't access. I'm in one small private group and I feel guilty enough about that when I'm being lazy and not creating enough public giveaways :)
I tend to just avoid level 0 and 1 giveaways. I think I've only once had to chase anyone.
Comment has been collapsed.
You really don't have to make public GAs just to satisfy someone else's pet peeve.
I stopped making public GAs for the same reason you have. I don't get CV from a lot of my giveaways because I don't have 5 entries and I win mostly only from the groups I make giveaways in so as far as I'm concerned, nobody is being "gamed" by me and I've been a level 7 for years even though I still make giveaways so really why people bother with what you are doing with your keys is beyond me.

they won my giveaway
used the steam key on day one of win
didnt mark as received well being on for a full week
ignored my 2 comments i made
after full 7 days had to file with support to get them to mark as received for me

Becz the admin introduced a feature, poured their blood, sweat and tears into its creation. And we as honest, humble, super cute, well-intentioned users must use it with sincerity to respect the work put behind it. Nothing less, nothing more, and certainly nothing personal.š

One reasons is that most people here give with intent. What I mean by that is that they do give games but they want the winners to play them as they themselves intended. If you don't play at least the number of hours that seems reasonable to them? Blacklist. You don't start playing in the first week after getting the game? Blacklist. And so on...
Very few people give and let go.

They failed to bring tacos or beer to the party. FAFO.

Just because I haven't given anything in a while doesn't mean I have stopped. Even if I stopped, I never blacklisted anyone at any time so your comment is still irrelevant. I can't even see what your comment was meant to accomplish? Calling me out for not given away games lately? I do hope it makes you feel better :D

Oh come on....u make it sound like its racism or somethingš
Hatred is such a strong emotion to attach to accessing giveaways, especially in a website that generates a monthly average of like 10k GAs
Edit: eh...it's a site feature. IMO spreading 'negativity' also sounds ridiculous. I would argue having a RCV ratio of like 0.08 is more about spreading negativity via greed than a BL that ensure both the parties suffer the same fate: not entering for each other's games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Like Mayanaise said pointless to add people to a list to stop access to giveaway you no longer make
Comment has been collapsed.
I donāt know if itās still a thing, but I know in the past some people would blacklist anyone who won their giveaways just so they couldnāt win again, and give other people a chance :) Not that they did anything wrong.
I personally only blacklist people that I find to be really offensive and cruel in forums. Not just disagreeing and minor debates in comments, but actually mean.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not sure your situation, but I know a few of my blacklist were from when I was new. I saw people in the giveaways thanking the giver and being new assumed this was proper behavior when entering. I now know my mistake but doesn't get me off those blacklist. Only 6 in a year though? You're doing great!

Ya unfortunately I didn't check with anyone and it got me a few blacklist. Thankfully I learned though. I think I only have 2 people on my blacklist currently, and that was because they said some pretty terrible things on here. Otherwise I try not to blacklist anyone.

Dont stress over it. Its a bit like the rest of the internet, no matter what you do or what you post some people will like, some will hate.
I recall i once did a little test, every time i posted on SG anything more substantial on a topic i checked the stats for a little while... and very often BL number went up. Post werent even high polarizing hot debates either. Heck even posts like opnions on games. Some people just use bl as a sort of 'unlike' or something
But good news is- so does whitelists.
Ive been here for over 10 years, i never signed up for any 'whitelist recruitment', and ive had moments of very high activity (like daily commenting everywhere, when i had more free time) - and i have around 3x more whitelists
Just be you, dont be toxic or anything like that and you will see that for yourself. You will always get a few BL regardless, heck the most wholesome people and some of the greatest gifters have a few thenselves.

This is what I noticed. It almost feels wrong to even inquire in here. Some people doesn't even try to understand, but will resort to blacklist quick. Honestly I don't care now, I found out that they can't join my GAs anyways so it's their loss.
Comment has been collapsed.
Quite simple... I don't. I don't hate people enough to consider blacklisting them. I think there's room for a 2nd chance if our paths crossed. You have to mess up big time to end up on my naughty list.
For me what got me some blacklists were definitely for topics I partook in that either were controversial and I shared my thoughts on it, either be it pro, con or fence sitting. Sometimes being neutral can get you a lot of hate too.
People blacklist you for different reasons. Some can do it out of pure randomness factor because they don't like you or what games you give away, or because you are in groups, or that you don't play the wins enough, or that you won one of their games and they just don't want you to ever win from them.
You can sometimes be mistaken for an auto-joiner or bot and that could lead a nice blacklist. Sometimes you can get a bunch of blacklists just because you dared to ask why you got blacklisted.
So in order to maybe get whitelisted and not as much blacklisted, is do the opposite. Play your games, give good games, give people chances to join, so no group ones for the best majority, shut up in discussions and mind your business and be nice to people if you can. Do all these and you might not have much of an issue.

begging. scamming. asking to be blacklisted. asking to be whitelisted. asking to be unblacklisted. not saying "thanks" after they won. saying "thanks" if they didn't win. not bumping a thread with a train they've entered. generally beeing a d!@k. trying to cheat sg by making bulk GAs of scammy steam trash that's "priced"for like $500 but is on forver discount to $5 or by stealing free keys that are given away in other channels and dumping them here and preventing me from getting my free key for the game I actually want to play just so they can burn it here and not even gain that illicit CV 'cause sg will mark these games as free and even if theyr not marked with two stars "no cv" at the time of making the giveaway the'll get retroactively reduced and all those russian scammers will flood the forums crying why their CV they got from stealing free games disappeared! /rant over
but I really tend to leave the BL only for the worst offenders and still I'm almost always willing to forgive people so my bl is only 20 something users strong, most of them permanently suspended...

I'm going to echo a lot of people here but the best thing to do is to ignore the blacklisting.
You have done nothing wrong. People blacklist for any reason. Hey look they have a dog in your avi, I'm a cat person, screw them! lol Oh and Canada? It's like second grade America! Ugh! Blacklisted!
I'm (barely) caricaturing here but really don't worry about it.
The best thing to do to get over blacklists is to keep making cool giveaways that last less than 6 days so the people who blacklisted you can suck it XD
(By the way, you're on my whitelist now. Your doggo is so cute and looks really happy and dogs are the best judges of humans and Canucks unite! :D)

I have noticed that 6 people have blacklisted me overall and I'm curious why. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
