OK, so i really don't want to get involved with that whole Palestine Awareness thread, but that peterlol is annoying as fuck with his "I know law and you don't" bullshit.
You see, this site is hosted in the USA, as are at least two of the three sites credited for CRAZY's quotes, and here in the USA we enacted something called the Fair Use Law back in 1976 (I believe). In a nutshell, this means one is allowed to use material from outside sources as long as that source is credited (or obvious) and the material posted is critical, a parody,, or INFORMATIONAL in nature. Feel free to read more about it, but it's common knowledge here in the USA.
In addition, there are several other countries around the world that have something similar to Fair Use (including Israel), and many, many more (including the European Union) are in the process of working out and ratifying their own versions of Fair Use.

Yep, and with fair use you are more likely to be found infringing if you use the whole text, or uncredited.
However for informal purposes when not in a position of a content creator, article writer, or generally where one stands to make profit, gain standing, etc, this tends to be considered a non-offense until the genuine owner of the material initiates a takedown / cease motion. At that point the site owner / etc are compelled to act, but not before, and penalties are withheld until non-compliance is evident, or unless the host of the material in breach is found to be profiting / knowingly avoiding attribution.
While Steamgifts could potentially be asked to remove it or force accreditation (if the owners actually gave a shit about a rando in an internet forum copy-pasting snips of their written word), it is only found to be 'illegal' once challenged and refused (or the infringing party neglects to act in a timely fashion).
The thing is, if I try to elaborate on this level, they're just going to give me a glassy stare and try to insist that this is a hard crime with no room for interpretation and that 'the spirit of the law' doesn't exist, etc. ;P

Yeah, the whole thing looks like a shady move by moderators to close the thread, IMHO. There's nothing wrong with the information he posted.
