It depends on the cause: doing something physical (even if it's just walking), good old-fashioned escapism (reading/gaming), or just getting a good meal are all valid short-term patches, but long-term, usually I only feel better when whatever the stress spike is is dealt with directly (or passes).

I cry a lot. Or drink wine. Or drink wine and cry.

Escapism via books, comics, board/video games, music. And talking over stuff with friends.

Oh, I see, you're not in the groups. That GA is for the Playing Matters group and the Unlucky-7 group. Either you play the games you got from Steamgifts, or you won fewer than 7 games on steamgifts.

To work, divide everything into smaller tasks
To relax, going out, listening to music, playing games, or going to the gym helps :)

Thing with stress is that whatever works for other people does not necessarily work for you. You need to find your sweet spot. Mine is enforcing a strict rest time, a time when I'm not allowed to do any pending task. I can stroll, listen to music, play games, hang out or exercise but I'm not able to even think about my sources of stress. Also, I set a mandatory time to analyse my sources of stress, to identify them and evaluate how important they are. Maybe you find you can drop some tasks that you have control over or maybe you identify sources of stress that you do not have any control over. Never let anything that you don't have control over stress you, it does not matter how much effort you put in it, so they don't deserve attention, just evaluate the worst-case scenario and be prepared for it, but don't be pessimist, take a rational approach. However all of this is easier said than done. Hope it helps
